Buying gold is 100% required to play end game in Classic era. There is no avoiding it unfortunately… but no real gold sinks + endless botting + nothing to do = insane inflation.
Professions unfortunately wont work because the botters own every herb and ore node that spawns… so itll take you 5 hours to get a stack of anything worth value.
Yes it does 100% exist allies side right now with Midnight Rodeo; this guild has a real progression raiding situation. Seems to be every year everyone re-rolls fresh and then Runs all the raids form MC to Naxx all over again. The only GDKP I have ever seen in this guild is last year after MC was on farm for near a year and the guild was running naxx, they were hosting GDKP MC runs and BWL runs for pugs to join up and to make a few gold on drops from those raids. The actual side of progression has always been traditional raiding tho.

Then you likely dont enchant your gear, or buy consumes, or have good gear.
I cant login to era atm but im sure mongoose are quite a bit more than the 7g they were when classic was going on in 2021.
I full consume for every guild raid and all my gear is enchanted. I don’t have good gear yet.
It’s not hard to make gold.
As a mage it’s def not hard to make gold… but warriors can really struggle in the gold making department if you don’t know what you’re doing.
That’s why I’m leveling up a hunter alt for gold making.
Everyone here who is saying you don’t have to buy gold is completely full of crap.
Yes the main reason that GDKP needs to be eliminated completely is not only the fact that it is the biggest incentive to buy gold, but that it forces everyone to buy gold if you want to compete and have a spot for any kind of pug.
It destroys the social aspect of the game, and turns the culture into even more of a P2W dystopia.
I have not purchased any gold in Era, and all my characters are Solo Self found.

You’re not forced to buy gold at all to do endgame ERA content.
I have never dropped a dime on this game and I will never will.

You need 500g+ a week for consumes assuming you arent a super lazy slacker.
Yeah good luck farming that for hours. 1,000 gold online via illegal sites would take me about 5 minutes of working…
The price is simply too cheap to not buy it unless you want to farm 40 hours to play for 3.
Or running endless GDKPs on alts… but good luck getting paid as a fresh 60.
My friend and I both leveled to 60, bought epics and enchants, got our epic riding the second we hit 60, and more, with a few thousand still in hand after the fact.
If you feel like you need to buy gold it’s because you suck, point blank.
We got literally thousands of gold by just using gathering professions while leveling. I truly mean it, if you can’t make literally thousands of gold using gathering professions you outright suck.
Which explains why you also hate gdkps. I swear to god on average the average anti gdkp player is just dog water.
I feel like you’re saying this to convince yourself to buy gold or you don’t want to actually play the game, you just want BIS without effort.
If you want to, go for it. 
But it’s wrong to say you can’t succeed in ERA without buying gold because that’s flat out wrong.
I never bought gold and I only play 1 character. I do just fine.
Please uninstall the game and never log in again. The World (of Warcraft) if literally better off without you.
Farming and making gold is part of the game. If you can’t appreciate that then you don’t deserve to play. Paying for gold is paying to not play the game that you’re already paying to play. Not only are you wasting money but you’re taking away from your own experience. It’s actually quite asinine.
Please delete all of your characters.
You can thank gold buyers for the economy that allowed this. Not everyone leveled at the same point in the game.

No player should have any issue at all obtaining gold in the current era economy. My friend and I obtained more than enough gold while leveling. If you’re already 60, and you’re broke, it’s because you suck. Go use any gathering profession, spend a good handful of hours farming each day, do it for a few days, and you should have a decent enough amount of money to then go into a gdkp and have your gold work for you, just don’t spend it all on a single item and end up losing more than you make and you’ll be fine.
There is quite literally no excuse to be broke in modern era.
Edit: oily blackmouths went crazy when I was level 20. The gold is there, you just need to actually obtain it and actually put it on the AH.
