Can i disable the 'potentially offensive message' nonsense?

That doesn’t work all that well and plenty of people go around the filter by using a ph in place of an f or other such things or even by using a space in the middle of the word or using a l instead of an i.

I see you are still embracing your victim hood. Do you really think you are the only to have removed post for small reasons? You are not some special freedom fighter that the mods are trying to keep in check. Your post have been removed but you have not done anything to warrant them banning you. You repeating that you are not 6 years old was in fact trolling. Maybe if you added more content to those post they would not have been removed.

Also be more concerned about books being banned that being able to cuss on forums or in a game. Books are far far more impactful than that.

we agree on book bans being untenable. the rest of yer comment is misrepresentation and hyperbole.

but good to see we agree on something.

this has been fun, but im falling asleep here. /cheers to all those still here

The topic was about disabling mature filters. Hope this helps :cowboy_hat_face::cowboy_hat_face:

It’s insane, this is training people that they have a right to not be offended. It is teaching impressionable people that we don’t have the right to free speech. That’s not to say a platform can’t have rules, but this is getting out of hand. It is across many games and platforms, and is contributing to the recent move to censor speech. This is how it starts, you censor speech everywhere a person goes under the guise of it being implemented by private businesses, then once every business is censoring speech it will become a formality for the government to go ahead and write it into law everywhere and for everyone.

Would require amending the constitution and that’s literally the hardest thing to do in the US legislature. Country is like 248 years old and there have only been 27 amendments.

What an odd accusation

… this dumpster fire is still going?

I guess this is what happens when there’s a holiday and no one is working.

The rules for WoW have not changed in 20 years. The parental advisory labels on music, movies, games, etc - probably predate your birth. This assumes, maybe incorrectly, that you are young.

Censorship by your govt would be something to worry about - like if they force stations off the air that talk about things that don’t flatter the administration.

Not being able to swear in a video game, that you have not been able to swear in for 20 years, is not something scary or new.

You are really really really stretching here. Just be nice to people in public chats/groups. Save any colorful stuff for private chats with friends who share your humor.

They know and are basically letting the fire burn out I think. It keeps it contained to one dumpster, which is convenient. That is my guess anyway.

It doesn’t take an amendment, it just requires bad actors to write restrictions into law with the supposed intent of protecting people. Does “disinformation” and “misinformation” sound familiar? They don’t exist, there is only information, it is either accurate or not. We are being told that it should be illegal to spread “misinformation”, and many people agree. A law attempting to stop “misinformation” is a limit on free speech that is arbitrary. Who will determine what is and is not “misinformation”. What is accepted as good information today can easily be incorrect tomorrow and vice-versa. This is bigger than a video game.

I have been playing this game since 2005 and played regularly for 15 years, in that entire time there were never trigger warnings for people saying “mean” things. There was always a language filter for bad words that could be disabled.

An accurate observation.

I don’t believe I am. This is not just WoW, these same restrictions and further are being implemented in many video games. Trigger warnings for “mean” comments did not exist for the entire time I played WoW, I started in early 2005 and played steadily for about 15 years. There has always been a mature language filter that could be disabled, not a warning that someone maybe said something mean.

Every various misinformation effort has been thrown out of court because it’s blatantly against the first amendment lol.

Are there trigger warnings now?

So weird how someone mentions “man in a dress” and you immediately think of trans people.
