Oh give me a break. This is Blizzard’s house, and they determined what the level of decorum is going to be.
Just like when you go into an office building there’s usually a level of politeness expected.
There’s no grandois plan of censorship, you can be as rude and uncouth as you want in your own spaces.

Find the private message settings and change them. A feature was added in DF to block messages that might be from people you don’t know with profanity.

Na it’s not permission to swear. I don’t swear in game. It’s you choosing to see words then getting mad you saw them and reporting them when you could of just left the filter on. But ya we all know you are the type who runs outta flags everyday.

i have it set to censor no one. if someone wants to cuss at me that is their right far as i am concerned.
i am still having ‘potentially offensive messages’ blocked. which, hilariously ironically, offends me.

Hello gamers of various natures. I’m here to provide you with a solution. Open the Game Menu, click on Options, click on Social (under Gameplay), and then set the Censor Messages option to “No one”.
And then, it will probably still censor messages when it feels like because I’m pretty sure I already had this option set to “No one” but still get messages censored somehow.

Might be a bug. I’d exit the game, delete your cache folder and try again. Maybe try a full UI reset real quick too.
If it persists and your settings are correct, then try the CS forum to see if they have any suggestions.
welp, apparently my account has been flagged and if i am ‘deemed offensive’ i will be ‘silenced’ on the forums. so this might be my last post. sigh. i miss the internet, and blizzard for that matter, of 15 years ago. before stupid was allowed to take over every public space.
i’d rather be right than liked. if more people thought that way this species might have had a chance.
