Can I change the battery in my authenticator when it dies?

I think the battery is almost done. What should I do?

I really hadn’t thought about that. I’ve had mine for over 10 years and it still works.

I’d also like to know the answer to this question.

The fob is sealed, and trying to change the battery might cause it to actually stop working.

If you have a phone that supports it, you should migrate to the bnet app.

If you are handy, you can least destructively as possible dremel the sonic weld seam around the entire edge of the case. Separate the two halves, then temporarily wire a new battery to the battery terminals in parallel. Remove the old battery, and insert a new battery. Remove the temporary battery that you used to keep the fob powered, reseal the case.

There is no way to sugar coat this, if the fob loses power at any point, all bets are off and it will be bricked forever.
