They will lose to druids in tps especially later on but Warriors DOMINATE both mitigation and tps in T4.

Magtheridon is a boss made for a Warrior MT with a slow swing timer and fears which ONLY Warriors can completely avoid. It’s the same thing for Nightbane.

I think the correct way to look at druid vs warr TPS is that a druid that is allowed to gear for primarily damage is capable of it, but a MT druid will not ever out perform a warrior in single target TPS.

Druids were being used to quickly kill bosses that the raid outgeared, but for current content? Warriors may have had poorer scaling potential, but every small bit of block value they got made a huge difference in the long run of a fight.

true put pally tanks are better at aoe pulls and trash mobs. wars are better at single target unless your good at tab targeting.

Think the TPS discussion will be interesting. Likely everything has been tested somewhere just not well documented. I know there are a lot of ways to scale TPS with war but so should Druid and Pally. So will be fun to see.

I know for me that Shield Block value just really starts to pump with Shield slam massive dmg. Then I use Arm pen and Dps stats to really make my dmg crazy. 150 Arm Pen is 1% dmg for a war. Forget the TPS for that but with Sunders on top and other modifiers it gets really high on single target.

Warrior dominance as the only valid tank left in BC

It is BC. All tank shine above the others in certain areas. Pally: AOE threat king , Tools for collecting adds, very good capable on single target, and is a multitool. Druid: HP/Armor kings. Warrior: Interrupt/spell reflect. Warrior and Druid fight each other for single target boss tanking while pally could and does tank the boss is more useful on add control.

Play to your characters strengths, not your ego.

Usually you start DPS as tank once you “Know 100% the fights”. While you are on progression/learning you go 1H/Shield then only when the fight is mastered you start try other stuff.

Going DPS-SET on content you dont know is a terrible mistake.

Well world first TBC Classic Magtheridon is in the history book boys and the Prot Warrior main tank did his job perfectly. I believe he was 69 level for all the progression raiding that was done yesterday.

Oh btw Prot has 2 passive rage generators. One is strong passive rage.

  • Anger Management (1 rage every 3 sec not strong but helpful)
  • Shield Specialization (1 rage every block so very powerful rage generation on trash)

Obviously with decent avoidance and block you are blocking most attacks from trash and thus gaining massive amounts of passive rage. This is why when trash and content is on farm Prot’s will choose some gear with block rating for passive rage generation and thus doing more damage.
