What I don’t understand at all is, if they have 0 plans to progress Doomhowl to TBC like the other anniversary servers, then WHY does Doomhowl even exist and why on earth is it absolutely crawling with ants everywhere you look??? Overpopulation = risky for hardcore so why the hell is everyone playing there?

Blizz needed this to also have the HC segment play Anniversary. And those wanting to give it a try, as they can now move to Anniversary servers if/when thay die.
A minority like our Gnome Mage go there for the “QoL” changes.
To sum up - it was necessary not for us players but for Blizz.
