Way back when I first started playing I made many alts on realms that now I no longer play on and have no intention of going back too ever. Is it possible for maybe Blizzard to delete these alts permanently from my account because all they do is take up space on what to me is a dead realm plus since my account is always active it could free up the names on those realms.
Thank you for any replies.
If they are deleted, they aren’t really taking up space nor would the character names continue to be taken by them after 30 days (assuming the characters were level 30+).
If the character is under level 50 it will eventually be purged from the deleted list. Level 50+ remain, but as I said, they aren’t exactly taking up space if they are deleted.

I remember the alts on two of the realms were made in MOP and boosted to what I think was max level which is now different in Shadowlands so would those as under level 50?
Yes and no. If they were deleted prior to the level squish they’d operate under that level. So, if they were over level 50 they would remain eligible to be undeleted on that list.
If they were deleted after the level squish, then it would operate under that new level and would be removed from the database after 90 days for characters up to level 29 and 120 for those up to 49.

Thank you for the answers but one more question if I may say they were made and deleted during MOP after boosted to max level at the time would they be eligible?
I believe this was before the squish.
If they were made and deleted during MOP that would be well before the level squish, so if they were maximum level for that expansion that would put them over level 50, and therefore they should still be available to be undeleted.

You have been very helpful and I thank you now to just wait for them to be deleted in time.

Just to round out this thread a bit…
Vrak answered a similar question I had when SL was first released. To paraphrase his response:
“Deleted characters are not level squished until they are restored.
The level requirement for permanent retention of a deleted character is 50 - both pre and post SL release.
An old deleted level 100 character, with permanent restorability, would be squished to level 40-ish if restored after SL release.
If you subsequently deleted the (now) level 40-ish character, it would not be permanently restorable.”
