If it was coming from a Philly fan, you’d definitely get under my skin. Trying to compare a great goalie to a great center just makes me laugh. Completely different skill set, and I respect Brodeur. Amazing goalie, above Fleury.

Different types of teams. One of the things i have watched over and over since it happened was Scott Stevens laying out Eric Londros…the ONLY Flyer i ever liked was John Leclair, all the rest were goons or overrated.
At least with the Penguins they had a lot of really good players that get lost in the shadow of Lemieux and Jagr. And of course it was ironic for me a little to see Jagr with the Devils at the end of his illustrious career.

I will say, the Devils aren’t a team that I’m going to root against unless they’re playing the Penguins. Like Philly, the Rangers, the Senators…I will root against them regardless of who they play. Your team isn’t on that level of hate.
Jagr was terrible to the Penguins when he was in Philly. I remember staying up till 3 in the morning during finals, watching them bury the winning goal after 5 overtimes. He didn’t shut up about it till Crosby. I wanted to continue liking him after he left the Penguins, but he made it impossible. By the time he went to the Devils, I just didn’t care about him anymore. I still consider him one of our greats though.
But when it gets down to it, some of my favorite Penguins are defenseman. Letang, Orpik, Burrows. Really like Dumoulin too.

I COMPLETELY agree with this, only for the Penguins. I HATE the Rangers/Flyers and i really dislike the Islanders but not as much.
I think good defense men are hard to find. Harder than good centers are good wings, maybe even harder then good goalies.
