Relax, I did not say you said that nor did attack you.
Deep breath. Not every post revolves around you.

I didnt say that you said that I said it. I said who said anything about 2h only spec for DH, or a DW only spec for Frost, meaning point to anyone.
I dont know why you implied I think every post revolves around me based on what you quoted. Nothing in there even suggests it.
You’re right, silly me.
I think “away from Specs” might be a uncharitable interpretation of what the speaker meant. However the idea of “class” identity over spec identity according to blizzcon was probably what the speaker was getting at. I mean if we are focusing on Death Knights as a class - then that means the passive representation of Death Knights should be able to be consistent. To put in another way - have we ever seen a Death Knight incapable of using 2 handers? Currently thats part of the problem I see with Frost - it blocks off a previously enjoyed spec from some players because we somehow lost the ability to use 2 handers in that spec. It does feel like Frost has been thus given a identity to itself - much in the same way that raising ghouls was given exclusively to unholy (and apparently is being returned to other specs) because raising ghouls was generally accepted as being done by all death knights.
That being said - lets not get into a big tussle over the 2 handed frost coming back or not - at this point that dead horse has been raised more then invincible.
(edit wield should say use - because you can weild a 2 hander - you just lose the major melee skills)
Oh no doubt that class identity has been removed. Specialization should mean you are a dk that specialize in something on top of the core dk build. Or a mage that has studied more fire and so on. Class specs feel more like a class in themselves than a specialization.
Not to mention lore has just been completely trashed.
God bless you if you still main death knight after the shadowlands cinematic
We have to avenge our stepdad
Which stepdad, Arthas (and Ner’zhul), or Bolvar? I don’t care which though since I think we might be avenging both of them in the end by crushing Sylvanas and ending the Jailer (and possibly finding his replacement too).
Arthas and his helmet ghost would be our regular dad, Bolvar is our stepdad since Arthas came down with a case of being dead
hopefully we do avenge both deathdads though
On the Bright Side Blood Death Knights cannot be insulted; because they have no lore.
While Arthas and Gorefiend are two iconic Death Knights representing Frost and Unholy. I highly doubt anyone could name an Iconic and powerful BDK.
I just tried to find one and the only Blood DK NPC I could even find was the old Blood trainer. I guess San’Layn kind of took that spot.
F for Blood lore
Everyone who wants a dk alt should make one before the starting zone changes so they’re dk can still be a rezed by arthas dk.
Neither were bound to one spec…
Game mechanics != game lore.
There’s no such things as “Specs” in lore.
New dk starting zone is for the allied race only and those that couldn’t make DK before.
I don’t think he means actual NPC specs. He did use the term “representation”. Arthas is the Death Knight so he has all DK abilities, since he is where all DK abilities came from, but his character concept is very much in line with a Frost DK. He doesn’t walk around with a pet. He resides in freezing cold, snowy environments. The blue eyes. Fur-coated hands and feet. Sword essence is blue. Those are themes that would be associated with a Frost DK, as opposed to Unholy or Blood.
The blue eyes is not frost and it’s been explained long ago. He was sent to Northrend or the Frozen Throne by the burning Legion to be his prison which later became his castle. He has an army of undead that he raised and controls. Sword being blue can be linked the same magic as the eyes.
So he’s just a frost dk in visual, what about what he actually did?
That… that’s the point.
That can be gained in blood, or even unholy.
We were talking about Arthas’s appearance and how it visually represents a Frost theme.
But it doesnt, its already established that blue does not equal to frost in this case.
To be fair, reading your post seemed like an attack on the post before it.
