I bought a new laptop about a month ago and resubbed to the game. I’ve run into certain graphics glitches during my time here and I’ve been seeking help for them on the tech support forums. The details can be seen here.
As I’m trying everything I can to get the issues fixed, I’m wondering if perhaps addons might be a cause of them. I did start the game with a number of addons loaded and if it’s a possibility I would consider just taking them out. Is such a thing possible?
Not likely but just disable addons and see for yourself
Do try resetting all settings to default, updating drivers yada yada
Addons can cause problems, but they’re more like stutters (if they’re poorly written and do extensive processing).
What you’re looking at are rendering errors.
That’s going to be a GPU issue or a driver issue most likely.
Thanks all, much appreciated. After some talking with folks over the phone it does seem that the issues are only because this computer isn’t really meant to handle WoW, and not because of any addon issues.
Kind of reminds me of the nvidia issue I had with wow. Their cards had some “flickering” issues with WoW and which was eventually fixed with an Nvidia driver update. As a workaround I would restart my pc often.
