I bought the Epic version of TWW last night on an all new account and tried to use my 70 boost and it says “Error” or something like that. In a google search I found that the transaction needs to be “processed” as it is still pending in my account info page. The money came out of my bank so just curious how long this takes?
It can take up to 24 hours.
While your money is reserved by your bank to be processed by the Blizzard payment collector and other details are being checked out.

Thanks for the reply. Had no idea it takes more than like a second. I’m sure it’s some sort of fraud protection system.

From a consumer end we rarely see the actual bank process.
- You authorize a transaction with a vendor to purchase something.
- Vendor checks that against the bank to see if it is valid or “authorized”. They get back a yes or no.
- If yes, bank sets aside or “holds” the money needed for that purchase and considers the transaction “pending”.
- Many vendors will let you access the goods or services at this authorization point. Some won’t.
- The actual transfer of the money that was set aside for the vendor to complete the purchase can take up to 3 business days for credit cards, and longer for some services like Paypal.
- If something goes wrong on the back end with the verification or transfer, the purchase will come up as failed, eventually.
- For a failed purchase the bank will eventually release the money back to your account for you to use again. It never went anywhere - it was only on hold. It just takes time to free it up.

In the case of a expac purchase, some parts of the purchase are safe to tender and allow the user to use immediately, because if the transaction goes wrong at the last minute, they’re easy to take back. Pets, mounts, the flag on your license that says you own that expac, that kind of thing.
You know what’s pretty much impossible to roll back? A boost. So a boost is not released to the customer until the money is in the cash register.
