More effort is put into shop mounts. You would think the annual accomplishment of WoW being around another year would bring something more exciting.
2022 should be a coffin mount. You could reskin it after the wow pet so you don’t need to give your graphic designers more work.
FYI reader: I’d just like to point out that during this posts creation blizzard has released a murloc backpack and ensemble transmog on the wow shop which are completely unique models.
It’s an anniversary though, why would it not be a reskin? 
Like yeah I can appreciate the effort of a new mount model but… it does make sense for an anniversary celebrating a different era of the game
Used to be we were lucky to get just a pet on non-milestone anniversaries.
I still want reskinned mounts. I don’t understand thinking reskins are practically worthless.

Devs have gone on record stating they make more from whales and the store services than actual active subscriptions…
and agreed, this would not be the case if we had better thought put into the game itself like it used to be.
It’s more they just pick the worst way to reskin mounts, we have some VERY interesting ways and themes to reskin them with, yet none of these are used unless occasionally found in the cash shop, and even many of those aren’t too creative.
Well the Deathwing mount was a reskin of the Valajar dragon.
Not only is it a reskin, its a reskin of basically the mythic Sylvanas mount (with chains removed)… IMO, kinda takes away from the accomplishment of obtaining that mount. But eh, its another number in our collection right…?
It’s a mount version of a battle pet.
They need to do that with some other battle pets. I can think of a few.

You know what woulda been better, a giant flying mask. It’s relatable, its unique, kinda funny (if you will), and represents 2021… No more far fetched that mounts in other games lol

FYI the first 10, TEN years of anniversary there was ZERO mounts. There were some steins that really didn’t do much other than occupy space in your bags. getting mounts wasn’t a thing.
The 10th anniversary was special, a decade, and obviously was celebrated with a mount. Then it repeated for the 15th because again, it was a big milestone.
All the sudden, we now need a new original mount every year? Why?
It’s too much to get a gift once a year folks!
Give an inch and they take a mile. Players have a habit of doing that with a lot of things. Always wanting more, never satisfied. 
I didn’t say that.
But if it is a gift, it shouldn’t be demanded either. It’s like the homeless person that is begging for food, but then tells you: “Im vegan!” when you bring them a burger.
If you’re going to get someone something it should special. Not a cookie cutter gift from a 25 cent machine

I do not think it’s asking too much to get a new gift once a year for an anniversary.
And it’s not a gift. It wasn’t wrapped in your mailbox. You had to go kill a recycled boss that wasn’t even in it’s original zone for recycled mount.
