Can’t Access PTR 11.2 – Only 2 Realms Show, Account Issue?

Hi all,

I’m currently unable to access the PTR for version 11.2 and I’m not sure what’s wrong. Here’s everything I’ve tried .
When I open the PTR client and log in with my account, I only see 2 realms
SHOW3 Mainline Realm 226 – but it’s marked as incompatible, and if I try to enter, I get disconnected right away.
11.2.5 Internal Alpha – but it shows as offline.
So I’m basically stuck and can’t test anything.
What I’ve Tried.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the PTR client
Checked for updates via Battle.net
Attempted to create a new PTR account through the Blizzard site, but it gave me an error: This account can’t be created.
So I borrowed my friend’s account just to test if it was a client issue. When I logged in with his PTR-enabled account, it worked fine. Realms loaded properly and the game was playable.

So it seems like the issue is specific to my Battle.net account, not the client or my PC.

Has anyone else had this issue where only their account can’t access the PTR?
Is there a way to re-enable or request PTR access for an existing account?
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have an active WoW subscription?

No, I don’t have an active WoW subscription right now. Could that be why I can’t access the PTR? I thought PTR access was available without an active subscription, but maybe I’m wrong. Any insights would be great, thanks!

I believe you needed to have made a PTR account while a sub was active, but I’m not certain since this is an account issue and not a technical one. You may get more traction by posting in the correct forum: Customer Support

I would highly advise against doing that again, that’s grounds for one or both of you to get suspension or worse. This would count as account sharing.

While you may have just been testing to see if something worked, Blizzard will only see that the account was logged into someone who isn’t the account holder. You could have had your friend try and log in to see if that worked.
