My camera keeps adjusting in strange ways. It seems to lock onto a set spot and as I turn the camera and/or my character (with either lmb, rmb or both) when I release them the camera will spin to face this same spot over and over again. For example say I’m running east, I can turn my camera and look south with lmb while running east. When I release lmb the camera, instead of adjusting behind me, randomly faces west. Ok…so I turn my character while running east with rmb. Release rmb and camera adjusts west again. Its absolutely driving me nuts!
I’ve tried all the different camera adjust settings. The only one that seems to keep it away in my testing is “never adjust” but I prefer it to adjust while moving back behind character. I’ve also disabled all addons but it still happens with them all disabled. When its happening, if I /rl the ui it seems to go away for awhile but eventually comes back. I’ve looked around all the in-game settings and key binds thinking maybe there’s something new that’s causing it but I don’t understand what’s happening. Never seen this before.
Any help would be appreciated on what I can try to fix this. Thanks!
Came here looking to see if anyone else was having the same problem. I played a ton of prepatch right up until DF launch and this was never an issue until the expansion dropped.
Im glad to hear other people are experiencing the same issue I thought it was something on my end but for the life of me cant figure it out. I even tried on two different computers and its still happening. So strange.
My brother and I are having a similar issue. Only started happening for me with DF launch.
I have my settings enabled to only adjust camera horizontally when moving, but it seems that as long as auto adjust is enabled, the camera will correct back to the incorrect spot.
For example, if I use the A or D keys to turn my character, when I move forward it will adjust but the point of view will have my character at 10* degrees off of direct center behind my character.
It seems that there is something wrong with the auto corrected camera view, I turned off all auto and the issue stopped happening.
Not sure if there is a console command that can be run to reset the angle or anything.
Would love a fix for this, its happening still for me.
I don’t use these forums much but I guess this isn’t a common issue if only a few of us are talking about it. Has anyone tried reinstalling or something? I’m not sure what to do.
This has been an issue since before pre-patch. I especially noticed this issue while playing my Evoker. I’m guessing it’s only affecting some people since streamers haven’t said anything - cause if they did, blizz is usually on it rather quickly.
The camera stops following the character on turns. Not Strafe, explicitly turns. it’s like a lag effect behavior. I have to reload my camera every dungeon because it tends to break every time i use Deep Breath or Rescue.
This is definitely tied to Dragonriding and the “vehicle” camera it uses. I entered a dungeon while flying and my camera was screwed up the whole time, making the experience a bit frustrating with having to fight the camera instead of just the enemies in the game.
Edit: To help find a solution to this bug, I’m using the “adjust only horizontal” setting.
I’m having this issue as well. For me, it seems if I run for a bit and let the camera do what it wants until it stops adjusting, then I can use my mouse to put it back where I want it. But definitely not cool when I’m trying to tank a dungeon or run from mobs!
