I was looking forward to getting to play the best expansion with Ulduar and ICC and not have to deal with the bloat of retial or the time waste of “LF2M derpda hurp”
Blizzard could have just decided to use the good parts of Wrath, but nah, stick retails LFG in there for some reason and waste peoples time.

Im in the same boat. Came back for Wrath. Only reason why I’m staying is because my real life buddy agreed to join me. Regarding RDF, I don’t remember how important RDF was. I think it came later in wrath after I no longer went to 5 man dungeons.
I just want it to help level alts. It’s a great and fast way to gain some levels and some blue gear starting at lvl 15. Also gives you access to dungeons you won’t have an opportunity to see IE Ragefire for alliance, deadmines for horde.
How great it would be for an alliance rogue or warrior to spam run ragefire at 15 to get the felblade https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=14145/cursed-felblade and how much easier it would be to get to 20 with that weapon. Deadmines will still be possible. But what about wailing caverns or blackfathom deeps. No Alliance person would be interested in spending 30 minutes to an hour running to those dungeons
People wonder this? Its not rocket science. The core audience for WoW was people engrossed in the lore created up and through WC3 TFT. We finished up that lore arc in WoTLK. So, a lot of people left after downing Arthas. A lot of people have aged out and just don’t game as much because that core audience is 30-50 now and are wrapped up in careers, kids, life, etc.
WoW is also not the only functional choice for an MMO with end game content anymore, plenty of competition exists that didn’t before, so audiences have split. Its the same exact problem Netflix has. It was the king of streaming, its quality really hasn’t meaningfully changed, it just has other platforms competing with it.
It didn’t help that the deathwing ended up being kind of a meme fight when cata could have been the breath of fresh air the game needed.
i agree with your sentiment, but not OP’s ideas, he is wrong and is being dramatic, as well as astroturfing for ff14.
The game does not benefit overall from LFD, despite the ease of access it might bring, it’s a slippery slope we’re better off without. Wheeling and dealing and struggling to form a group and get everyone in one spot is a necessary part of the struggle and for all of blizzards many errors, im glad they havent made this one just yet.

To be fair, OP didn’t do a great job of separating his anticipation for ICC/Ulduar from the frustration of looking for a 5 player group. So I can see how people might have thought he was referring to LFR.
