The end of the expac will most likely coincide with the release of “Cata Classic”. But I believe there is something else in store. I believe WoW Classic is going to end up being an alternate timeline where we either save Deathwing from corruption or something of the like. Moruzond is in Cata and given the plot point of Nozdormu trying to see what causes him to become Moruzond which makes me think HE will end up being the final boss in “Cata Classic” or at least play a more significant role other than a dungeon boss.
I could just be chewing on the wrong crayons today.

I think the problem is that the story team is far removed from the original group who established and fostered the game with clear established lore.
Everything since MoP has been pretty much them fumbling to try to make a unique story off of something they had no part in creating.
Simply, it doesn’t seem like the creativity is there.

I don’t see them ever creating new content for classic, but I could see them turning the current classic servers into progression servers until eventually they catch up to the current retail xpac and merge the servers together, creating a fun little lore thing as to why theres all these different ppl around. Many years from now of couse.

Blizzard isn’t spending money on classic past the bare minimum it’s not in the shareholders best interest. Stock goes up.

People were unenthused by the idea of progressing through xpacks before Wrath even launched, why would they ever consider Cata classic?
Cause they aren’t classic players. They just don’t like retail models
Theyve had a cata survey. Theres been talks about cata having all previous raids doable at max level.
Besides that, if TBC got a rerelease then Cata and MoP certainly deserve one
People go to classic to be a part of the classic setting. Cata was the end of the classic setting. They literally destroyed the world. We can see that version in current retail WoW. This is part of why Classic era content needs to be considered. People like the way the game was designed in vanilla and they want more content designed with the way the game was then in mind.
Era will always be there for them. Cata is coming.

Their excuse for the bugs is often now “that is authentic” despite the video evidence and harm it causes to the game…
what really annoys me is they use the “that is authentic” excuse then in the same patch cycle “fix” paladins and druids for Wrath PvE. Apparently they could not handle the fact that we were bear weaving yet that was a thing in OG Wrath, but druid only players QQ and get changes
I bowed out of wotlk in January. Did Blizz really make a change that killed bear weaving?
