You guys really need to read her story. She is the oldest child of the king. The king did not make her heir to the throne… instead he skipped over her and gave it to Arthas. He then got rid of her. He arranged a marriage to a noble. Again, thankfully she ran away because she would have been marrying a dragon but she did not return home. She ended up marrying a commoner.
The entire kingdom of Lordaeron was then murdered or abandoned. The people that would have crowned her queen are either Forsaken or in Stormwind. The Forsaken did not want a queen, they wanted a council, and the people that lived want to destroy all undead.
And on top of all that, Calia said from her own mouth that she’s not the queen.
I really don’t understand why people keep insisting “sHe’S tHe hEiR” when it makes zero sense.

I think you guys are forgetting even tho her tittle is Queen she isn’t ruling her people in a monarchy she is part of a council whom they all decide on things are run. I am just stating she is a Queen now because of next of kin.

I am stating she is not a queen due to her line not holding the throne.
Combined with her abandoning her people

He skipped over her because it in a monarchy the eldest son is chosen males are the heir of the throne. But if no one is left then it’s the daughters

How exactly did she abandon them?

And that daughter married a commoner. She gave up all her rights.

She’s the current heir of the Menethil line, that’s it. Like, you know there’s someone who would be King of France if they still rulled there, for instance, based on inheritance rules. That’s Calia. The Menethils no longer rule Lordaeron.

This here is the reason then thank you
It has to do with way too many characters all about “We should all be friends!” ugh, it’s WARcraft, Horde and Alliance are supposed to hate each other. Sure we put aside our differences when a stronger enemy appears, but we still hate each other.

She is queen now for I don’t know the reason other than now people in Lordaeron just gave her that tittle while she is in the council or blizzard just honestly wasn’t thinking and placed the tittle there.

So many people saying she is the Heir when she is not like the kingdom of Lordaeron that she could of been heir too fell at the hands of Arthas and no longer exists in present day but even if it did she ran away sacrificing her title of royalty to marry a commoner. The current Kingdom of Lordaeron is the one founded by Sylvanas and the Forsaken in the ruins of the fallen Menethil Kingdom and no Menethil has any claim to it as Ruler.

One more bit of tinder in the dumpster fire that is Warcraft’s story.
I’m rooting for it to get worse at this point. Let’s make it as bad as possible!

Only Arthas took the throne by force. Since he’s gone, and the rightful king is also gone, and she is the daughter of the rightful king, she IS the legitimate heir.
But this is of the nation of Lordaeron, NOT the Forsaken. She’s a member of the council but she is not the “leader” of the Forsaken.

No she’s not she isn’t royalty and the kingdom she would of been heir too if she hadn’t run away to marry a commoner no longer exists

I mean, yeah, you can argue that her title is meaningless, but it still technically exists.

Again, just because your dad is the king doesn’t mean you get to rule or the title.
She was never a legitimate heir, just like bastards are not legit heirs.

Also being a legitimate heir doesn’t make you king/queen either.

It is incorrect to say the royal family was deposed, and that the family itself was responsible for the kingdom’s demise. Prince Arthas did that, not the entire royal line. Neither Calia, nor her late father, were guilty of any of that.
In any case, all of this discussion is moot. The Forsaken is governed by a council now, and Calia has a seat at that table. So what if some (or all) of the now undead (former) citizens of Lordaeron want to call her Queen? It doesn’t grant her any more power.

No it does not still exist as I said she was stripped of that title when she ran away to marry a commoner by her Father the King.

Do you hear wedding bells in the distance? Well guess what! You do! As we proudly announce the marriage between Calia Menethil and Derek Proudmoore!
So join us as you witness a marriage of love that will unite the Horde and Alliance even more! And yes, the Horde can walk freely around Bolarus during this joyous time!
(But I’m sure the devs can do worse then that scenario too. )
