Remember how awesome Cairne was? He was like a man of the people. A noble roaming savage of Kalimdor who though slow to anger, was a total beast when pissed off.
Now we have Baine, hanging out in Stormwind all day sniveling around like he’s worthless. Don’t his hooves hurt all day from those hard stone streets?
Blizz has really done the children of the Horde a great disservice in their character development
You can almost count on the fact that these types of posts are made by either an Undead Sylvanas supporter, or an Orc Garrosh supporter. There are exceptions of course, but most of the time…
I’m not sure how anyone could argue Baine is better or even on par with Cairne. Baine is probably the most horribly written character in a game full of horribly written characters. He is a Christie Golden pet and most of his interactions only happen with the other two Golden pets Anduin and Jaina.
What? You mean the acting leader of the horde, and diplomat of the horde visits other nation capitals to have peace talks, negotiate treaties, and discuss the ongoing threat of an old god that wants to kill us all? And to help track down the parasite that is Sylvanas?
Preach it!!! When he got his character model looking like a WARRIOR! I was like ”OH YEA BAEYBE HERE WE GO HOT ON HIS HOOVES HES GONNA STEP ON SOME ALLIANCE DOGS!”
But nawh.
“oOoO SyLVANAS evil instead of helping my people I shall abandon them and go live in SW for no reason.”
All Blizz was doing was preparing the Sylvanas fanbois that they will need to adapt to their new Vulpera overlords.
You know like the OG WC3 Horde had to deal with adding Forsaken to ruin the Horde in Vanilla and again ruining the Horde further by adding Blood Elves in BC.
I for one am glad the cute little furries with their upbeat, optimistic outlook on life and their desire to go out into the world and be a Hero (as stated in their starting cinematic)
The emo edgy Horde is now gone - to the cheers of everyone!
And they almost weren’t in the Horde because of Baine. The amount of people calling him a jerk or a moron when people loaded in start the Vulpera quest line was… amusing to say the least.
Oh he’s not living in Stormwind. He was probably discussing the N’Zoth threat with Anduin since it’s kind of both of their problems. The factions aren’t at war anymore, if anything it’s good the leaders are willing to talk and work together.
It doesn’t mean he’s against the Horde or anything like that. They should be going for diplomacy now, Cairne would do the same. Especially when an evil tentacle god appears.
Technically the reason he at first declined them, was that he was overwhelmed by the demands of everyone else, and from that feared adding more voices to the pile would cause more strain, and end up with the Vulpera not having the greatest experience.
He was still very welcoming and open to allow the Vulpera to stay as long as they wanted to.
It’s just goes to show even the nicest people drowning in work can sometimes make mistakes and overlook things.
The fact he could admit he was wrong, and reverse his decisions without making excuses shows maturity in my eyes.
No one is perfect. In the end Baine was worried for the Vulpera’s best interests. Or at the very least, thought he was looking out for them.
Cairne would have made the exact same decisions that Baine did, because they were the right decisions to make.
Cairne didn’t support Garrosh as Warchief, and he wouldn’t have supported Sylvanas.
Cairne understood the plight of the Forsaken, he advocated for them to join the Horde after all, and he wouldn’t have allowed Sylvanas to use Derek as a weapon against his will.
Cairne would have easily worked with Varian to ensure peace between the factions, or at least an alliance, in the face of N’zoth’s assault.
