C+ Talents

Talent trees for Classic+ should remain mostly the same. Maybe a few specs that have particular pain points get some attention but otherwise shouldn’t change the way they play much.

However, what I think they could do is add some questlines that essentially add an additional point to certain talents. My example for this will be Priest. You can complete a questline that would add one point to Spirit Tap. If you are already at 5/5 for it, then it would unlock an active that would activate your Spirit Tap on a 3-min CD. (for this specific talent, most would probably not add additional abilities)

In adding additional points through quests, it can enhance some important talents or give you the option of investing those points elsewhere. The idea would be to both give some support to less desirable specs and to open up more talent builds outside of what Era provides already. Ideally, I would like anyone who plays any class a reason to be excited to roll their main again. This is also a system that can be built upon for future content updates.

This just in. If you barely change talents or just add more points warrior is still 50% of the raid.

Era players try not to defend warrior slop challenge impossible.

You also cannot just overhaul everything. That is what made SoD so undesireable. It is still supposed to be vanilla-esque. I’d like to diversify raid makeup more, but I also don’t want them to trash Warriors in the only content they really excel in.

Sod had more players than vanilla anniversary. Clearly people don’t like vanilla as much as you think. TBC anniversary has 3x the players as vanilla anniversary. Players have voted through population. Classic+ isn’t vanilla+ and the classic that players seem to prefer are TBC/SoD not vanilla.

So, your argument is that SoD was more popular than the 5th time they released the same vanilla content and that TBC’s second shot at classic servers is more popular? Vanilla is the whole reason people even want Classic+ in the first place. They don’t want TBC/Wrath and they certainly don’t want SoD classes that were doing Cata raid damage before max level.

If this were true then vanilla anniversary would have been super popular. It wasn’t. People want TBC/wotlk style gameplay in the old vanilla world. The people voted through population. No one wants warrior world buff slop with a few extra quests

Wrath had the highest player dropoff in WoW’s history. People don’t want that. TBC is popular because they never did a rerun since the original classic. People were waiting to play that as they had already played Vanilla classic many times at this point. The concept of Classic+ exists because Vanilla has what people want, they just want more of it.

Vanilla was so bad they had to add chronoboons because everyone was perma logged out. Population charts are public for the classic versions. Vanilla isn’t more liked than TBC wotlk and sod. We don’t want ur world buff slop 3 extra quest era 2

They probably will change something about world buffs. Ideally, they will still exist on rotation for open world content but in raid would be replaced by profession-related items.

SoD was actual dog doo.

Population says otherwise.

Nope. World buffs are vanilla. You said vanilla was amazing… if you truly thought that you would want chrono boons removed. We saw vanilla without world buffs in raid. It was called SoM. Was DoA. All population charts point to vanilla being not as well liked as the other classic versions.

I’m fine with World Buffs sticking around. They can even add new ones. Honestly, maybe limiting them to 1 or 2 but buffing them to be more impactful to different classes/roles would be the way to go rather than making endgame a collect-a-thon of temporary buffs for raid.

If they come out with SoD 2, it will be DoA. Guarantee that.

Raid log simulator.

Link any ironforge pro data to back up this claim. If SoD was so bad how come vanilla anniversary never passed it in popularity. Your precious era2 isn’t comming.

Because it was the 5th time they rereleased the same content. This is like asking why the 5th time the Avatar movie came to theaters it didn’t make as much as the sequel movie the first time. Such a nonsense comparison.

You can be as upset as you want. It doesn’t change the numbers even release 2 of vanilla was dead. Classic devs figured out very quickly that the qol added in TBC and wotlk was very popular and well liked. You arnt getting era 2 the devs have already sent out surveys and talked on discord. You better get ready for TBC/wotlk qol changes. So basically retail for u era clowns

Upset? Seems like projection to me.

Ignore EC, he is an illiterate troll. He makes no effort to read and think about the things people write. Don’t get me wrong, feel free to play with him, just don’t put any stock in what he says.

I like your suggestion… it keeps the talent trees we have now, which are actually pretty good, but adds progression paths for players to develop them further and grow in power.

Having said that, some feedback…

With this type of format I think you have to be wary of the balance between how good the additional talents are and how long it takes to get them. I’m reminded of the release iteration of SWTOR, which had items you could find in the world that gave you stat bonuses. There was heavy pressure on players to get these because the net bonus was substantial, but they were spread all around the game’s universe and it took a lot of time running around with a guide open on your monitor to find them all.

It ended up being a “raiding ready checklist” chore that I don’t think many people enjoyed. Actually, I think SoD suffered from this too. The whole concept of going around and exploring the world is a really good one, but power-gating players into doing it before they can be considered for end-game activities is, I believe, one of the reasons SoD ultimately moved all the runes to a vendor.

So I love the spirit of your idea because having more stuff to collect and pursue is good, and Vanilla-style questlines are a great way to do that, but it’s worth considering the other side of the coin too

You’re the individual who claims paladin tanks in vanilla are fine and don’t need changes despite not being viable.

I don’t understand why you era players wants classic+ to be era2. If you want only warriors to be played stay on era.

Because when people mention Classic+ they aren’t talking about any of the expansions. They never have. The starting point of Classic+ is Era, not TBC, not Wrath, and even the Blizzard devs have stated that SoD went too far.

I’m sorry to disappoint you but TBC and wotlk are classic. Anything up to mop blizzard considered classic. People don’t want warrior slop round 9. We have already done the surveys devs have already communicated on discord. We arnt getting vanilla era 2
