It’s nothing personal at all but playing 14 year old expansions and paying 40 plus dollars for 20 year old games is hurting the rest of us. Millions of people are going to buy Diablo 2 remastered for 40 dollars. This is why we get delayed games, expansions, and patches. I wish millions of my friends would stop living in the past so the rest of us can move forward. What do you all think?
Shadowlands is moving forward.
We need to go back.
Remember Diablo 3’s launch? Oof.
It had a launch?
Oh that was what the error I got eternally so couldn’t play most of week 1 for a week was.
Not fond memories of D3 drop. Played a month and quit. Came back when the AH was killed off.
It was the 2 to 3 balance passes a week. They were killing “farm builds” several times a week. I wasn’t even looking to farm. I just wanted my build to work the same more than 3 days in a row. And you were damn near reading patch notes daily before login .
People are paying 40 dollars for a 20 year old game which you could mod for free.
I, for one, can’t wait till Warcraft 3 Reforged and Tempered comes out in another 15 years.
Isn’t Diablo 2 remaster being done by BE Vicarious Visions… which has nothing to do with WoW?
Prove it/10char
i think they need to stop remastering games to an extent and start pushing out better games. i mean yes sometimens its nice to revisit these old games but how many times we going to see things get remastered? Soooo MANY video games and movies are remastered for profit reasons. are they as good as the original? ( movie wise ) not always imo. video game wise same thing. the nostalgia kicks in but to me it’s also LONG… gone.
for example i lost my mother 2 years ago from cancer. there are many things i remember of her and what we did together and things bring back that nostalgia. it’s something im always going to remember on a daily basis but the feeling is lack luster. it doesn’t hit the same as if she were still with us. for example me and her were the only coffee drinkers in the house. we’d both drink a lot of coffee since then i rarely drink any coffee at all. once in a while i will make a cup or 2 but it doesn’t hit the same.
in my field of work there is science in a sense which idk if 100% true or just psycological bs but i work as a cook and they say that mood changes your ability to taste. as cooks we say if you are angry or upset or like sad then your food wont taste as good because your not putting the love into it.
i’ve done this multiple times even at work on a daily basis. we have 2 kitchens 2 sets of cooks for each kitchen we serve the same meals but the people making them are different. the flavors are 100% different.
oh man, you reminded me of it
Well… that’s pretty much all that Vicarious Games has done… update and remaster games for rerelease (Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2) and I don’t think they have ever developed something fresh and new… so… what should happen to them?
Until there is no longer a profitable demand to remaster old games for the modern age…
Well… if there wasn’t a sizeable demand for these things there wouldn’t be a profitable reason to make it. People wanted D2 rereleased with updated graphics…
Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty good. The Night of the Living Dead remake was pretty good also. I definitely enjoyed the It remakes more than the originals (I generally hate made for tv movies).
It is almost like you think they only have one group of people working on things. More games or remastered games being worked on means more people are employed.
Welcome to the triple A gaming industry. Get used to it, many big gaming companies nowadays profit more off of remasters because as these companies grow into big corporations the goal becomes less on making a good game and more on making a good profit. Meaning the new games they usually make are more likely to be utter garbage.
What did OP write 'cause I ignored him lol…
I’m just waiting for people to say that artists should be working more on balancing the classes. Or voice actors should be writing quest flavor text…
Well… the outrage trollers aren’t known for their actual knowledge… they just post some nonsense and then run out the door.
You are not missing much…
Ok, so ignoring him was for a good reason, lol.
Yeah pretty much. They posted the OP… made some other post and the abandoned their thread when challenged.
I could’ve swore they’ve got another company remastering d2…
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.
Also, the existence of one doesn’t negate the existence of the other.
No, it’s not.
Vicarious Visions were the people that did the Diablo 2 remaster, an Activision studio. They recently merged them into Blizzard but I think most of the work was already done.
