Buying Mounts Before Pre-Patch

With the upcoming pre-patch and/or TBC launch – should I be buying mounts for my sub-40 alts now, or should I wait until the pre-patch launch? And will I be able to buy/use other races’ mounts, or will I still need to be Exalted to ride a different race’s mount?

Supposedly (keyword), the Mounts were “cheaper” than the Training, in BC, but I don’t have that information, on hand, right now and too tired to provide one. It’s what I do (all day) around here, but I don’t have the energy (right now) to research, ATM. You’ll be getting what IK (right now) off the top of my head.

You will still need to be Exalted with the different Races, if you want to ride their Mounts. In Classic (right now), you only have to train for your Race’s Riding Skill one time, and you’re good to ride BOTH the 60% AND 100% speed mounts, for your Race.

If you’re interested in riding another Race’s mount, you’ll need to be Exalted, train to ride their Mounts and then buy the Mount. In BC, it gets changed to generic Riding Skills (NOT Race restricted). Riding Skill at 40 to ride 60% speed Mounts and then Riding Skill at 60 to ride 100% speed Mounts. To purchase a different Race’s Mount, you STILL need to reach Exalted status, in order for the Vendor to sell that Race’s Mounts over to you.

IDK if those Mounts retain their BoE status or not, in BC. That’s something else you’ll have to research, yourself. I’m too tired to do your homework, for you.

EDIT: Here, this is as much work as I’m going to provide regarding “Mounts”. You’ll have to figure out the rest, on your own, or somebody else chimes in with more info -
