Buying a boost with cash vs in game

Just curious but why is it bad for blizz to sell level boosts but it’s ok to buy boosts in game? I don’t get the issue. Just starting my shaman i have seen constant carry spam. Just a question, no harassment.

Because you don’t pay for Mage boosts with RL money.

People are just stuck in the past. They think blizzard is old blizzard. OG blizzard said they never wanted to add systems like this. That type of development thinking was definitely great. However due to change in the industry that no longer works. Games are more expensive to operate and maintain. You no longer have 10 to 50 employees. More like 400+ employees.

Sadly people don’t realize the cost and the stuff development teams have to deal with. So instead of being logical players QQ like angry karens.Karen’s.

Edit: only issue I have e with blizzard is the price for all the shop items. They are to high.

What people also get upset about is they think it’s Pay to win. Yet 99% of them never played MMos that had paid max level boost + full maxed out gear.

I do take issue with the game industry on micro transactions. Some development teams will take advantage of player badly. Like COD, Battlefield, battlefront, DOA 5 and 6…basically any game that locks a lot of items behind a paywall. Some development teams will go as far as locking stuff behind 100+ hours of time played or pay $50… the gaming industry has some serious problems. Yet world of warcraft isn’t a major problem like most other titles.

Because the Blizzard boost is taking money from the poor boost sellers.

it is not bad either way. its an opinion. you are not going to change anyones mind so just stop.

chose the way you want to boost and do it.

you are asking why its bad for blizz to sell boosts. Why are you asking that? Who said it was bad? have you read that on the forums? Did blizzard tell you it was bad?

You already know how ppl feel about it so what is your point? Troll much.

Time is also money… Those who have more time have more access to game currency. Those without time probably have more access to RL money. Both have uses in this game and both are being used by all players in one form or another.

Do you really want Blizzard creating paid services for services players created themselves?

For a game that’s supposed to be about community and player interaction a paid service seems to go the opposite direction.

I think the justification is that mage boosting is a social deal between the players where as paying for a boost is between a player and a company so it feels like it lessens player interaction.

It can also be seen as players aren’t getting the in game gold because someone else can get paid real money to do it faster.

People don’t understand that just because players have bad habits, it doesn’t mean blizz should adopt those habits as in-game purchases.

You don’t need to buy the store items with real money either.

Trade classic gold for retail and buy tokens. Or just buy tokens with retail gold if you already have it.

I don’t disagree, I just think the hypocrisy is astounding.

Comparing the retail WoW token to buying a level 58 boost is to compare apples and oranges. When you buy a WoW token, you are not buying power; merely more sub time. You should never be able to buy power with real life money in a pay to play game with a mandatory sub, plain and simple.

Personally, i’m against the WoW token, period. It is a bandaid fix to open fracture of RMT.

Nothing stops me from hiring minimum wage employees to do nothing but farm and give their proceeds to the guild bank, of which I have sole control.

Like it or not, successful people outside the game will always have the ability to translate that into in-game power.

Because some peoples parents did not hug them enough. Their parents were raiding.

Technically, the ToS stops you, as that’s account sharing.

Igh, forgot to switch back to my main before posting…

Because maybe you shouldn’t worry about what other people spend their money on…

Holy Red Herring, Batman!

So by your logic, we shouldn’t care about people buying gold. After all, it’s their money, isn’t it?
