Buying a boost leads to RMT

If they are already willing to buy the boost why do you assume they haven’t bought gold LOL. none of these arguments work cause all the anti booster crowd does is assume things that’s not logical.

If they’ve bought gold and they’re pushing for boosts it will confirm that both parties are tainted beyond relief. The idea that Blizzard caters to that type of player is just another crumbling stone in their foundation. The moment a game company decides to pickup the pieces it’s over for Blizzard.

Ahh yea, all those MMOs in the last 15 years have done a great job at stopping wow…oh no wait, Wow is still going stronger and going for round two. Yea, sure. Someone else is definitely gonna show em how it’s done.

WoW has done more to harm itself than any competition. A lot of the competition were overhyped dog piles that were rushed out of the gate and purposefully hiding their content from their respective buyers. I can’t think of any MMO that didn’t release within the timeframe WoW was around that didn’t actively try to imitate, hide, and/or cash grab. It’s why MMOs as a Western genre are dead. Who knows what a couple of years could mean for WoW.

I’d put money on a couple of years meaning dick all LOL

I don’t believe so. For one thing the major competitors that could have taken out WoW were all during the time of WoW’s actual height in terms of sub count. A lot of those competitors were hiding the major flaws they had and were clearly not ready to be released. People are aching for a new exploration and seeing an early release such as Valheim get 5+ million buyers suggests the market is indeed there.
WoW isn’t prepared at all for a competitor. Their current focus is all about going for whales rather than small fish and once there is an objectively good small fish game WoW will crumble. No one will sub for a game that doesn’t cater to them. A lot of players posting on this forum who don’t wish to see boosts are doing so to force WoW into catering for the small fish again. Because if they don’t the game will ultimately die. You may laugh it off as if WoW is forever but, just like every Empire that has become decadent through easy times they ultimately buckle and shatter at the moment the hard times come.

Yea, and here is the kicker. Wait for it. I don’t give a crap if wow dies! Crazy right? Video games come and go, rise and fall as you said. So why the F%#$ are you cretines sitting here talking like WoW was gonna last forever? Enjoy it while it’s here christ. No games good forever, why exactly did anyone think this one would be?

How do you know?

Plenty of games that have lasted for decades to even thousands of years. Some as different variations of their true selves but the foundation or the game itself has remained the same. The kicker being that you simply don’t care if it does live or not is enough confirmation that short term interests are preferable compared to long term in your mind. That’s fine. You’re here for a quick dopamine rush and off to the next game.

I’ve been waiting 15 years for the WoW killer MMO.

Still waiting.

Wow won’t die unless wow kills itself. Despite its MANY attempts to do so, it lives on. I am confident it’ll be here for a long time yet.

If someone’s going to buy a boost for $60 they’re absolutely going to buy gold as well

But there is!

It’s their own sense of self righteousness!

Ah, yes! Self-righteousness! I forgot about that. How foolish of me.

What in the? Are you being serious?

Activision was the wow killer. Wow has been pure trash for 4 expansions now if not 5.

This is reductive. Here are some counterpoints:

  • Many people will be boosting an alt. From the sounds of things, most folks have plenty of gold
  • This game is old… how many “new” players are there, really?
  • Since I know how to farm, I’d farm up stuff myself. In fact, it’s kinda fun

Pandaland and Legion were good. WoD was okay. BFA had its moments. Shadowlands is pretty. Some people liked Cata.

WotLK was peak WoW, pretty sure Activision was around for that one.

I’m in leveling guilds on three or four different servers. I’ve actually been surprised at the number of new players. It’s not huge numbers, but I’m guessing 5%, which is way more than I expected.

Are they new in the sense they’ve never played WoW?
