survival hunter …way to many buttons …3 full bars …no good to play
That spec is such an unfocused mess. Is it a melee class? A pet class? A throw bombs class? A shoot a tiny crossbow class? Yes! It is all of things in a complete pile of jank! And yes, here are 30 different abilities to use so that every unfocused ability gets lots to do!
Needs redesign more than any spec in the game.
Thats almost every class except demon hunter.
I know it’s not necessarily a viable solution for every person but one easy way to somewhat overcome this level of bindings requirement for a class, if all or most are necessary or useful (idk Survival in its current iteration at all to weigh in on that tbf) is with a 12 side button MMO mouse and using the paging option for key binds or bar addons so that holding Ctrl or Shift activates your secondary and tertiary bar rows and the binds on them. There are other somewhat unorthodox binding methods I’ve heard of people using as well that allow them use of more of the keyboard and no extra mouse buttons, but some require unbinding other keys for UI things.
Survival has like 4 main buttons in its rotation and then some cooldowns. With no Hero spec that makes any sense for it. I don’t know where people are coming up with three full bars for a rotation, tbh. It became braindead boring to me and I hate it.
I can remember when mage only had like 20 usable abilities and now there are 10 of them in this spell book I don’t even have room for on the bars. might be time to start pruning some specs again.
There’s no bloat.
This is a pebcak issue.
3 full bars? It’s rotation involves Raptor/Mongoose, Butchery, WB, Flanking Strike, Kill Shot, Fury, CA, and Spearhead. 8 skills in your rotation lol, that’s not a lot.
And some of those are talent nodes so you’re looking at less than 8 depending on your build. I have no issues myself, but I guess good news for you in 11.1 Flanking Strike and Butchery will now be a choice node.
Button bloat is real, there’s no denying that.
Some people like it, some people hate it, I’m pretty neutral despite pressing 5 to mount and using F1-F5 keys.
Its a lot harder to get people into WoW if they’re physically uncomfortable playing it. They should cut back a bit for the game’s longevity.
Apparently if you only press a few buttons the majority of the time, that means your bars aren’t full. Git gud y’all.
TIL you’re only supposed to have rotation spells on your bars.
It’s not real. It’s a lack of skill issue.
Well OP specifically said SV Hunter and not just Hunter… so it’s only logical to assume the rotation has some involvement.
are you keybinding Eagle Eye and Eyes of the Beast and every pet summons
I suppose, idk. But every class has utility spells outside of a rotation that go on bars. My paladin has probably no less than 10 spells right off the top of my head, outside of my rotation that goes, on my bars, that are useful and used on a regular basis, just for PVE not even considering PVP.
Are you ONLY key binding your 4 rotation buttons and leaving all your utility spells in your spell book? I dont play the spec in OP but plenty of other classes have too many damn buttons. See my other comment my paladin has probably 10 spells outside of my rotation that get used regularly. But go off i guess. Troll answer is troll.
Its a comfort issue.
There are players that don’t like keybind discomfort who are better than you and I at the game.
I’m aware of that, OP did little to provide context of where their issue is outside of labeling the spec they play.
I have a hunter, so traps, flare, exhil, RoarSac, are all on my bars as well.
Care to list what those are?
Because the main rotation is the same as almost every other spec in the game (4-7 buttons + 1-3 CDs).
If there is ONE spec in the game that NEEDS the “too many buttons” rework, it’s ENHANCEMENT.
In an old man voice: “Back in my day we had 3 of the same spell bound for different ranks”
But really, shaman key binds in vanilla broke my brain.
I don’t mind the amount of buttons we have right now, but I don’t play every class. Just Druid, DH, and Disc.
