WTF, they gave you optionbs to change… you are complaining you were auto changed. They gave fair warning…
Ok so it wasn’t just me who completely missed this as I just came back a week ago. Saw nothing in the client,or in-game. So now I can’t really play anything but retail and i’m just gonna pass on that. I even read the forums pretty much daily but somehow missed a thread from months ago.
Gave fair warning? Where? On the forums for the no life neck beard to read? How convenient. No email?
It was reported by like every major gaming publication.
Yet not on the Blizzard launcher or in a simple email to subscribers.
To quote the great Homer Simpson…“DOH!”
Atleast theyve been transferred, still waiting on mine
I don’t know a single person in my life that reads “Major Gaming Company” whatever that means, I assume you mean gaming websites - again a company the size of Blizzard should be able to communicate such impactful changes to their users who pay a monthly subscription to have access to their characters, which they have lost going on one week now, looking like it will continue for some time. Never mind the fact that like I said now people are not on the same servers as their friend.
It is not the users responsibility to read random forums or random gaming news outlets to know what is going on with a game they pay for - it is Blizzard’s job to communicate that clearly. Like many have said something as simple as an automated e-mail or putting something in the LAUNCHER that they force their users to use specifically with part of their argument being “oh you get important game news from there” would have sufficed, but they did not do that. You’re just bootlicking for bootlicking’s sake.
Like I can’t believe you’re saying “Ayckshually Blizzard shouldn’t give free transfers to people they hosed with this situation, even though it costs them nothing to do so. They posted once two months ago when many weren’t even playing the game to their forum - that’s on you!!!”. What is it to you if Blizzard offers a service that should already be free to compensate customers for not communicating clearly with them? You’re ridiculous.
I meant Major Gaming Publications. I don’t even have consolidation characters, and I knew about it weeks and weeks ago. Even if you do not get an email or check forums or make a simple search for crusade changes… Wotlk launch… you should had to of atleast saw your populations dwindling and entire guilds disappearing because people were transferring early.
I think you’re stretching now trying to defend what was obviously a botched communication of a major event to many people by only posting it on this troll fest of a forum that feels actual players visit.
Even if you do not get an email or check forums or make a simple search for crusade changes… Wotlk launch…
No, why would I search that?
you should had to of atleast saw your populations dwindling and entire guilds disappearing because people were transferring early.
Again, this is majorly affecting players who weren’t playing and are coming back to the game now. In your infinite brilliance how do you propose those players would see these things you describe?
Say something new, or keep licking Blizzard’s boots for all I care. They dropped the ball big time here by not taking proper steps to inform their customers of a change so consequential to their ability to play the game and I’m done with your repeated points of “It’s your fault for not religiously reading gaming news!”. Your argument is so incredibly dumb and vapid.
Feel 0 remorse for you haha. Pay attention. I’m not active (weren’t playing) knew all about the consolidation. Over a month ago… smh
“Nothing bad happened to me, but I’m glad bad things happened to others”
What a treat you are!
Some people are just jerks for no reason, and they enjoy being nasty to others.
I’m saying this as someone who has always frequented the forums. There were other ways that this could have been communicated to people too.
I can see how this is a problem for you. Sorry that you have to deal with it.
It’s true I lost the ability to even play the game whenever my characters realm transfer. Like really they thought putting small alliance server inactive into a 99% horde dominated server is going to give us an awesome experience when we get back? I’m either being forced to shell out 100+ dollars to leave or restart. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s got corpse camping written all over it.
Maybe if blizzard gave a weeks notice, but it was posted for over 60 days. All you had to do was click 2 buttons - forums, burning crusade. That’s among the many other ways to get the info. If you don’t play the game (like you said) or pay attention to public information that has been out for months AND Then want to feel like you are a victim… I just don’t buy it.
The government has shown up to my house ready to bulldoze it to build an overpass, but they had posting in the basement of City Hall for 60 days, all I had to do was go there and read it - something I’ve never done in my life and would have no reason to normally.
I don’t think you quite know how eminent domain works… nor do I find it remotely comparable to a patch to a game that’s 15 years old

It’s from a book, Einstein. And the point about clearly communicating something to someone it is going to affect instead of posting something somewhere arbitrary and hoping they read it.
Arbitrary - “based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system”
I wouldn’t call forums arbitrary lol. Have fun in your lala land.
Mr. Prosser said: “You were quite entitled to make any suggestions
or protests at the appropriate time you know.”“Appropriate time?” hooted Arthur. “Appropriate time? The first I
knew about it was when a workman arrived at my home yesterday. I
asked him if he’d come to clean the windows and he said no he’d
come to demolish the house. He didn’t tell me straight away of course.
Oh no. First he wiped a couple of windows and charged me a fiver.
Then he told me.”“But Mr. Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning
office for the last nine month.”“Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them,
yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call
attention to them had you? I mean like actually telling anybody or
anything.”“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find
them.”“That’s the display department.”
“With a torch.”
“Ah, well the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a
locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the
door saying Beware of the Leopard.”
Yeah, I found the notice. After my characters disappeared and have been gone going on a week and are being moved to a server without my friends and also a server ridiculously imbalanced in factions.
Have fun with your life where you apparently constantly read the Blizzard forums and think that’s a totally normal thing to do that everyone else does too.
