Bug when I target it causes me to autoattack

I heard this is a bug people are talking about but cant find any info on it. It started with the latest patch. I was doing mythic halondrus progression all week so only noticed it on that boss, not on any mythic plus at all. Basically when I left click or tab target then half the time my auto attack starts and I pull boss. I started facing away from boss to test it and sure enough half the time my toon is trying to attack when I tab target the boss.

Is this just a halondrus thing and is this happening with any other classes or sepcs?

This has happened for me as well, a few times. Primarily, I saw it in earlier expansions, dating back to Tomb of Sargeras in Legion. It has started again with 9.2.5, as far as I can tell that is.

Specifically, as previously stated, you can be out of combat, waiting to pull a boss as an example, then you left click to acquire a target, and then for some reason you sometimes start auto attacking.

Yep, progressing the same boss and the same thing happens to all of our hunters. We cant left click or tab target.

Happened to a Hunter Sunday night on Anduin. I was not on my Hunter at the time. In fact it happened several times.

Happened to me Also on Skolex.
Left click Targeted him from out of range while party buffs we put out and groups set up, applied HM, as I came into range moving to group Mark spot I auto shot him.

Are you sure you weren’t in attack stance before you targeted? That’s happened before with my character. A mob was not completely dead before switching tragets and it caused an auto fire when I did not want to attack.

Random Pulling Mobs Since Tuesday

I am not sure if this is happening to any other classes. But it has been happening to me and quite a few hunters I talked to in game. Hunter auto attacking without any input

Seems to be a bug that is happening inside of raid instances that is causing ranged hunters when they change target to a mob or apply hunters mark to start auto attacking without right clicking or using any attack input. This is when using tab to target and with left click, it is a intermittent bug not happening on every tab/click/mark to the boss but happening enough to annoy my guild, happening to the other hunter in my guild too. only solve atm is to be facing away from the boss to pre hunt…

Yeah I cant precast Aimed Shot otherwise i will auto the boss. Happened to me during Mythic Art, Sausage, and now on Proto. In the mean time im just playing BM and not targetting the boss until its time to pull

P sure this has been arount for a while, maybe my macros are set up so i dont notice this but yeah its been a problem for a while idk if Blizz cares enough to look into it

Mouse over macros seem to trigger boss as well. One of our hunters use mouse over to hunter’s mark and still pulled. He was quite shock cause he was laughing at the other hunters all night for accidental pulls.

I was just informed of this bug, wanted to add in. I am currently a BM Hunter, little to no addons, no real macros or keybinds, having no issues. I am able to click Hal over and over, Hunter’s Mark, etc. Hope this means it has been patched!
