GM told me in my ticket it was a known bug at this point with no ETA on a fix.
I just received the below ticket response. Hopefully, they will fix it soon.

Atleast they know about it! Hopefully it gets fixed before they just bail on it because “no longer obtainable anyways”

When my ticket was answered on 8/29, the response said that the developers were already looking into it. It’s already been over a month that they’ve been aware of the issue and it still isn’t fixed. My money is on their response consisting of “ignoring it until people forget about the issue.”
Feels like a very copy/pasta response 
That seems to be Blizzard’s CS team’s MO lately. They stopped responding to tickets when the players were online so they didn’t have to actually interact with us outside of canned responses.

I’m disappointed, but not surprised to see it’s still broken.

Bumping this up as well. I know Blizzard is busy working on the new expansion, but the time it’s taking to get this fixed is annoying. I have to hold onto my upgrade tokens, because I have a feeling that I won’t get the “sheath on back” appearance for normal if I upgrade it to heroic without getting the normal first after this bug i hopefully fixed. Please fix this. It’s almost been 3 months.

I’m in the same exact boat as you. I bought one to use as Frost and intended to upgrade it to mythic but since I can’t get the full normal mog appearance at the moment it has sat in my bags as 285 for months with a mythic upgrade token to go with it.

is this ever going to get fixed? How hard is it Blizz? Seriously, its the same frakkin item as the rest of the game but noooo because its fated its somehow different and broken and their response is “yeah we know its bugged… k thx bai!”

I think we may need to accept that this is never getting fixed as by the time they get to it they will probably decide it is not worth the time as the item is no longer obtainable. I’m really starting to lose all hope in this getting fixed.
