Transferring currencies requires you to login to the destination toon, click on the currency, and transfer button.
If the destination does not have any of the currency yet, this cannot be done, even if the currency is able to be traded.
As an example, attempting to transfer Champion’s Seal (woltk currency) to a fresh toon who has never been to woltk. It cannot be done, since it is not on destination’s list of currencies.
Fix is to have any and all currencies show up on currency tab with a count of 0. Alternatively, flip the ui from “destination selecting source”, to instead use “source selecting destination”.

Yes, this is a real problem for PvP if you want to level a toon to cap and then PvP with it, If it has no Honor already I cannot send honor to it.
There needs to be a ‘send to’ option and not just a ‘take from’ option, Unless the take from has a universal list we can access to initiate transfers.
This was one feature I was really looking forward to with so many alts and currencies all over, but this system breaks most of it’s usefulness.

+1…If this is a bug please fix it, it is extremely awkward and inaccessible. If it is not a bug then please re-design this system.

It’s mind boggling that this was their design choice for the currency transfer UI. It should have been obvious right from the start what a problem this would be.

I really hope this is a bug / oversight. I see no reason why anyone should have to go back to the Argent Tournament and go through the whole process of earning a singular champions seal just so I can transfer all the seals I farmed on my opposite faction main >.>

This was a pretty big miss tbh.
You guys are getting spread thin.

Chiming in on this. While I understand the idea of “transfer to current character” being the standard mechanism (it makes consolidating a currency easier than having to log into several characters to send currency X to a single character), it does introduce this problem since the UI doesn’t provide any way to pull a currency to a character who doesn’t have any.
Filling up the currency UI with every currency possessed by any character would be very cluttery, but the answer is simple: add a toggle checkbox to the Currency window that lets you show all currencies that any of your characters have at least 1 of. Normally it would be off, but you can turn it on if you want to pull something your character doesn’t have.
As long as we’re wishlisting, it would also be really nice if there was a “pull ALL of this currency to this character” button so that you don’t have to manually transfer currency from a dozen characters or whatever. It’s tedious as heck to click “Transfer” and then click on the box and then type in the number and then click OUTSIDE the box so the button will light up and then click the button, repeat a dozen times.

Just adding my name to the list. I want to transfer one Curious Coin to a character so I can buy the Leather Love Seat pattern on my leatherworker but it won’t let me as he has no curious coins to begin with.

I just ran into this problem with Residual Memories. I wanted to send the currency to an alt to buy transmog gear. Having to have a currency for it to show up on the list misses the point of making alts live easier. A “transfer to” system would have avoided this problem, or better yet, why not just have a toggle to “transfer to”/“receive from.”

Or just display all currencies as 0.
Oddly enough if you transfer “just enough” currency to buy something, then the character is left with currency at 0, it doesn’t just disappear from list again.

I just found this out the hard way as well…
Are we going to lose the Residual Memories currency before a fix for this?
I consolidated all the currency on one character and want to spent it now on another… (e.g., did not do any of the pre-event on Alliance, but want to buy the Alliance mount…)
I don’t think its a bug. They designed that way. ALL the new features are in some sort bugged, restrictive, or not completed.
character screen: All characters there and not organized by realms anymore. Not even possible to chose.
warband bank: it deletes your items by “x” reasons.
currency transfer: can’t transfer or all in a single pool to be access because devs don’t want you to spend all in one character by mistake. Like… I’m 4 years old now?
A single currency pool IS possible. They do this with Trader’s Tender.
I learned the worst possible way and ATM I don’t trust warband bank. Missing itens and other stuffs.
Probably we will have to wait more than one expansion to see this system better and watch they say how they are good and listen to us. I mean, the best case scenario.
They create the problem and them sell the solution. Is pretty much the government.
I think I will stick with my plan and wait next summer to play the game in a more solid scenario.
If you bought the horde mount, you get the alliance one too. At least that worked for me.

It was an unintended consequence they did not foresee. So bug-ish?
One of the devs talks about it in one of the gamescon interviews.
The best news is that they specifically mentioned it as something being worked on.

Thank you and confirmed, buying the Horde mount gets you the Alliance mount as well, I hadn’t noticed that! Cheers
Adding my name to this list. I’m unable to transfer Residual Memories to a toon that doesn’t have any. I’m also unable to remove said currency from being watched on my bag as that toon doesn’t have any.
Even more so as you can no longer earn the Echoes currency now the event has ended!
(I’d just transferred all mine to one char, bought all the gear before midnight in case the vendor disappeared with the end of event, only to find it had turned soulbound instead of warbound. Luckily they’ve acknowledge that wasn’t intended, but no ETA on fix. I hope it happens before they despawn the vendor…).
This is a huge problem for the possible workaround for the residual currency since you can’t earn it anymore.
