There’s plenty that hasn’t been revealed about Season 2 yet as a lot of it is encrypted still. If there’s a legendary planned for Season 2, it’s already been designed and implemented.
i guess if we’re talking about the new tiersets then sure. i just dont see any rng dependent tank specs other than bdk deathbrigner whose dps variance is insane for some reason
fair enough on that, but im just saying mystic touch is still a good debuff because alot of specs still have the physical aspects of their abilities like rets “holy strike” which is both magic and physical and thus buffed by both.
people gotta stop pretending that physical comps dont exist when alot of comps have some sort of physical damage dealer
Its not that physical comps don’t exist, its just that many classes main damage dealing abilities are magical in nature, and don’t get buffed by Mystic Touch. Rogues, for example, do a lot of their damage through poisons. Paladin is almost all holy damage. Even hunter has a lot of their damage tied to things like explosive shot. Enhance Shamans mostly do nature damage as well.
outlaw is all physical, ret has holy strike which is holy and physical, and hunter has alot of physical abilities as well.
we’re not going into the specifics of unlisted “physical” aspects of elemental attributes like how havoc chaos has a “physical” atribute
We aren’t pretending they don’t exist. We even have a name for them: “Break the Meta.”
- Paralysis / Pressure Points
- Tiger’s Lust
- Vivacious Vivification
- Ring of Peace
- Detox
- Leg sweep
- Mystic Touch
- Clash
I think people downplay how strong RoP is in M+. Blizzard needs to do thorough review of BM, but the positioning of BM isn’t because of utilities.
LMFAO. When you’re listing Vivacious Vivification, Detox, Mystic Touch, and Clash as utility, you’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Detox? Every hybrid tank (50% of tanks) have a dispel.
Clash? Are you serious? That’s class fantasy, not utility.
As Equinox (or maybe Riyyah) pointed out, Mystic Touch is the 2nd weakest class buff in the game.
What is your game here? Are you trying to say that Brewmaster is great, that our toolkit is perfect as-is? Why are you playing the role of Goebbels for Blizz?

you’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Utility is utility.

50% of tanks
Which means 50% don’t. There were so many uses of Detox this season.

Clash? Are you serious? That’s class fantasy, not utility.
In that reductive argument Divine Toll is a class fantasy and not a utility. Don’t be ridiculous.

I can tell you are just knee jerk replying because you can’t have an objective argument and instead feeling the need to put words in my mouth that completely contradict what I stated.

Blizzard needs to do thorough review of BM, but the positioning of BM isn’t because of utilities.
Where exactly did I say BM is “great” and “perfect-as-is”. No where.

Clash
Most Brewmasters don’t take Clash because its a long cooldown and you have to give up
either your statue which is how you group up pulls and AOE taunt, or Windwalking which is the groupwide 4% movespeed buff.
It’s definitely a situational utility which is very helpful in dungeons with trash that charges (or similar) to random group members, but it’s still a utility.
If we remove Clash from the list I provided then we can just add Windwalking/Statue in it’s place.
Really stretching the definition of M+ utility there.
Season 2 of M+ is looking to have a lot more AOE healing checks(and just a generally higher burden on the healer compared to season 1).
So many packs do pulsing AOE and that that 1 Vivify or Paralyzis is not going to help. Brew needs a proper cooldown to help out the team’s survivability.
There is a reason why all these high-end tank players are putting brew at the bottom of their tier list(Next to warrior). There is no real reason to bring one over a Prot Paladin that can help the team or a VDH that has high self sustain.

Really stretching the definition of M+ utility there
Rooting enemies in an AoE isn’t a utility? C’mon now.
The root breaks on any damage done.
the aug scales nerf is also a nerf to brew, so that’s exciting
I’ll take your word on it and that would make it less useful. I thought there was a damage threshold.
So then we remove it from the list and replace it with Statue/Windwalking as stated earlier. The point is that BM has good utilities. Also to reiterate that BM needs to be looked at by Blizzard, but my point is that utilities isn’t why BM is where it stands in the rankings.

but my point is that utilities isn’t why BM is where it stands in the rankings.
What is the relevance of your point? What value does it bring to this discussion?

I thought there was a damage threshold.
Nope. 1 damage is all it takes to break it.
Even when Clash was baseline back in MoP Brewmasters wouldn’t even keybind it. It was removed in Warlords of Draenor and then for some reason added back in Shadowlands. Its a meme skill that you only see like one or two brewmasters run.
Statue isn’t utility. Its just an AOE taunt basically. It doesn’t produce enough threat to hold against healer aggro so its basically useless in that regard – its basically a target dummy that doesn’t taunt.
Windwalking is a meme buff with a 10 yard range, so the only people who get it are melee. It won’t make a single bit of difference in whether you can get out of mechanics or not.

What is the relevance of your point?
What’s your relevance countering this point? Prot Paladin has had all of the same utilities since Shadowlands. Yet, we were bottom tier next to BM until 11.0.5. Even with Divine Toll nerfed in 11.0.5, Prot Paladin rose to take over because of damage. If it was due to utilities, we would have been dominating every season since nothing there has changed. So logically, while utilities are important, is not the major factor in determining the meta. That goes to damage.
Side-note, I like how you completely ignored the entire response that was actually directed at you.

Then take out one line item and you still have a solid list of utilities. You are hyper-fixating on the utilities instead of the actual point being given.
They either don’t know what to do with Stagger or they cooking hard for a revamp of Brew which will see the spec tuned around whatever Stagger ends up being. Everything is gonna be on hold until they can figure Stagger out.
