What is even more funny, the fact that there were 15% for Brew and Prot Pally indicates they KNOW that tank damage is not equal, but given how bad bear damage is, the fact that we ONLY got the 20% means they want bear to be still 20-40% lower than other tanks’ damage, even if moving all tank damage up.
Makes it hard to take them seriously. Maybe Tencent bought them too.
Well I called this in the monk forum already and now it’s like blizz doesn’t care for balance of the classes. I’ll just play my blood dk as my tank next season get ksm and then wait for season 3. Good bye monk tank it was great in Dragonflight but now we just get left by the meta tanks.
It’s honestly Soooo boring to have unbalanced tanks, as a healer, I want to heal more than 1 or two tanks all the time.
I love brew the most as a healer
Just for transparency tank damage cant be buffed equally, they’d have to be even for that to happen. Brew if min/maxed well can do more than vdh atm. I will grant that maxing vdh damage has a lower ceiling than brew though so youll see top vdh dam infinitely more often than top brew dam
When I read that I thought the OP was joking in general lol
Yes its been a pally dominant season, but in top 200 tanks for keys in all regions break down is 1 VDH, 1 DK, 1 Warr, 2 Brew and 195 Pally.
The reason Brew only got 15% with pallies is cause their dmg is quite a lot better than the other tanks, the other tanks needed just that bit more help but doesn’t change fact utility wise Pally, Brew and to lesser extent VDH are quite a bit ahead of the other 3.
Grip and shell alone are worth more than all of brew utility. LOL.
Mystic Touch? Who even does pure physical damage anymore? Warrior maybe? Everyone is throwing around poison, disease, magic, fire, etc. Very little physical outside of white hits. Oh boy I can’t wait for Break The Meta so I can bring that physical damage comp!!! LMAO. That buff needs to be updated for modern WoW.
this btw guys, skill ceilings and floors are things to consider about tank tuning and i feel like alot of yall arent really focusing on that at all
quite a few dps still do physical things. anything with “strike” in its name is still counted as a physical ability and thus buffed by mystic touch. we also have hidden physsical modifiers for example havoc has physical in various chaos abilities and thus can be buffed by mystic touch.
heck correct me if im wrong tho, cause i dont play bleed specs. but im sure bleeds are considered a physical ability.
You’d think they would balance around this for every role though, while the game is easy to play there are some builds that easily obtain a good enough performance close to their maximum, but some require more input.
Then there’s the issue of some builds having too much variance where regardless of the skill expression available RNG can either boost you to a higher number or put you down to a lower number. Which also isn’t very enjoyable.
Realistically they need to design with enough skill expression in mind in terms of gameplay and have some RNG involved but not as much as there is right now.
gonna be honest para isn’t utility, it’s just a hard CC same as imprison/sap/hunter trap. Imprison/sap can be argued as util just due to them being non combat. Mystic touch and rop are util, however mystic touch is the 2nd worst buff in the game (evoker buff lmao) and rop is good but also useless against lieutenants and bosses themselves.
if you remove sac (just ppals sac) and avenger’s shield interrupt from ppal and silence sigil from vdh you’re looking at a very balanced utility spread from the tanks. some tanks with dispels, group survival, grips, buffs, etc. I doubt they will ever do it though but just my thoughts
They are, though the specs that deal alot of bleed damage are often not favored highly for M+. Assassination had a bit of a shine there for a moment, but bleeds tend to be hit hard by blizzard’s “balancing”
There’s still a bit of hope - they haven’t announced a legendary for Season 2 yet. If they do, it is possible that it’s something like an agi staff for Monks and Druids; classes are usually balanced around having BiS gear.
