The people that care about keeping it rare likely only use the mount because of it. To show off. How pathetic is that?
I’m at 1211, still got 19 more kills to go for today, and I know my Rarity reset somewhere in BFA so there’s a good chance you can add 800 more attempts before that.
Pandaria World Bosses used to be a 0.04% (1/2000) drop chance. Now they’re 1% and EVERYBODY except the pathetic few liked that.
AND THOSE YOU COULD KILL EVERY WEEK, AND WIN WITH BONUS ROLLS.
AND YOU COULD BUY THEM OFF THE BMAH TOO.
We’re REALLY not asking much here, just for a reasonable drop chance for a mount that’s only available 15 days a year!

Not enough data, but if it were 0.5% or higher, we would’ve defo seen more drops by now.

These kind of trash drop rates on cosmetics are why more people leave the game then come back or join up new. FF is a new 30 min quest with unique rewards every single year. You can also buy the old rewards for less than $5 on their shop if you really like one and were not playing that year.
Now WoW does not need to copy FF, but somewhere between 30 mins and possibly never is easily a better system.

I got mine first try yesterday. Funny, because I’ve tried for the horseman mount for years on multiple toons and have never got it in all the years I’ve played!
I’ve never once done the heartbreaker because I normally break from WoW around this time and play heavy in summer months to late December but I had taken a 2.5 year break so I’ve been playing a lot more this year.
In my opinion, no mount should have a drop chance below 1%.

Extremely. I’ve always said that people whose only attachment to mounts being rarity aren’t real mount lovers.
I hunt for the mounts that I love, and I put in as much as is required to get them. Not as much as some of the hardcore, I don’t have 52 alts but I run a decent amount for anything that I want enough to farm for.
The world boss change was universally beloved, EVERYONE was happy. I’m not sure if you’re on Secret Finding, but when a member who had done 17,000 attempts for Sha finally got it after the change everyone went crazy and they were so happy. Did they go “Oh, it’s worthless now.”? No. They got something they wanted and were super happy.
People go “Oh it’s the first day” but it’s not. It’s the 12th year, or the 7th year or whatever. 6th for me - not gonna lie and say I’m farmed for a decade but still. It’s one of those mounts I’ve always wanted and done every single time I could (in fact the first year I did a bunch of toons that weren’t eligible cos I was a noob and was doing toons that could only get the Green box xD)
Being punished for being more committed to farming it sucks. And everyone who wants it is still running all their alts, I don’t know more than a 1 or 2 who aren’t doing that out of the hundreds of mount farmers I interact with on Discord. And now, not getting it on that “good” attempt every day feels WAY worse than doing an entire day without it on the entire alt squad did. It’s like “Okay, so there goes my entire chance for the day” and yet I’m obviously still going to do runs on my alts hoping for a miracle.
Bleh. People who don’t care about mounts are probably going to cherrypick my words and make claims like “they’ll only be happy if it’s mailed to them for free~~~” but at least you and I are on the same page it seems <3

The value is in the rarity. Otherwise it’s just pixels everybody gets.
Yeah i put in a combined 500 kills with the new buff and got absolutely 0 mounts… So imma call BS that they patched the old bosses at all lol. No shot.
We’ve had almost that many reports of it dropping in my thread in the forum, and lots of whiny demands, too. There have been more reports of players getting it than getting the sha of anger mount after the drop rate was increased.
I think it’s probably a 10% drop rate now.
They definitely did, at least for a while. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they decreased it again.
