We have such a divided community over rdf and no doubt a lot of that is a direct result of everything being easy mode. I played wotlk retail at launch and on, all the way through and i remember dungeons, especially heroics being harder. I imagine many of us have come from private servers so we’re no strangers to the wotlk era but instead of stepping the game up, it feels like such a downgrade. How did that happen? With or without rdf there’s no point in playing here if players can walk right through the content (and they can).
Its also mind boogling that Blizzard on their own game didn’t consider doing things… a little different. Creating a newer’ish wotlk experience. Some new quest, new events, new or unfinished raids/dungeons, new cinematics. I for one would love to see wotlk last longer in a positive way then the raiding of icc we did for a year in 3.3. Here we are at a impasse where we can stick to easy mode basic wotlk or create new hype and excitement with many new interesting and improved content that caters to classic players.
Anyways, you can troll me now. I ptobably deserve it.
this is a 14years old expansion…
1-things are well known
2-wow head tells people how to play / gear
3-Boe’s are dropping like rain
4-heroics drop epics (this originally came 1year later into original wrath)
5-this is last patch of original wotlk so we have lastest classes revamps which improved alot of things and buffed the over all dps very early.
6-5man dungeons was never hard in the first place so they was easy and now made easier
I’m not playing WotLK for a challenge that isn’t fun. I’m here to enjoy the best expansion of WoW. The fun is easy gearing and reliving the pinnacle of WoW. I want to get geared fast and easy so I can enjoy the game.
The game starts when you are Full BiS. Get there fast and easy then play the game and have fun.
I wish they would rebuff super mario on nes when I go back and play it… Its meant as a museum piece enjoy it for what it is instead of trying to make it retail. as I can simply go play that which I also do lol.
2009 versus 2022 Of course it’s going to seem easier we’re a lot better at the game and I keep saying this if you really want difficulty retail T retail is where you get it that is where you are going to get difficult PVE content like it or not.
wrath is a solved game Everybody knows what’s best for their class everybody knows what to look for everybody knows what They need to reach everybody knows what they need to do for the rotation it’s solved like it or not.
Retail everything’s new people are learning everything nobody knows what their class is going to play like Thursday aspect of everything’s new yes there’s always data mining but for the most part there is a good round of stuff that just is not known.
So here is the problem with that: Modern Blizzard is nothing like old Blizzard. everyone who knew what classic area was all about left that company years ago. All thats left is a bunch of fake woke F&^% ups that wouldn’t know creativity if it bit them in the @$$! Anything they would cook up for classic is doomed to failure.
I’m not looking for excuses, i want inovation. There’s absolutely no readon Blizzard can’t buff damage, mechanics, and hp of dungeons and raids. Hell, ive seen this easily done on private servers. Yeah out classes have been buffed and fleshed out, thats exactly the reason we need some new mechanics. This also has been done on private servers. Get with the program.
And you could take that gesr and use it on new content too. What if… the scourage invaded vanilla and tbc dungeons, raids, and zones and altered them, granting newer versions? Think about that. You’ll burn on fast with all that gear with nothing new or exciting. You can’t even deny that fact because its only nature.
If heroics were difficult for you originally, it was because you were horrendous at the game more so than the dungeons actually being hard. Wrath 5 mans were always faceroll.
Bruh, they can’t even implement a bribe bag without killing an entire profession. This fantasy that this Classic team has all the hidden secrets to making new content that falls inline with 2008 design concepts is wild.
Their solution to making Naxx difficult was a flat buff to HP & damage. That’s what we’re dealing with… reality is any designer who had ideas on how to make fun and engaging new content would have been moved to the retail team long before they got a chance to implement anything in classic
