BT GDKP runs will reveal just how out of control gold buying is

Prepare to witness numerous gold capped characters trading unspeakable amounts of gold for a single item (Warglaive). The changes made to SoM preventing ridiculous mage gold farms should’ve been implemented into TBCC

It will reveal how everyone and their Pally alts farm Strat 12 hours a day and are sitting on thousands and thousands of gold.

Remember when "OMG I CAN ONLY DO 30 UNIQUE INSTANCES EVERY 24-HOURS OMG I CANT EVEN PLAY THIS GAME ANYMORE WTF" crying was a thing?

Yeah, sure. Except you failed to realize or mention two simple facts.

  1. TBC servers came from established classic servers were gold buying/farming was taking place the moment the servers went live. There would still be tons of gold in the economies.
  2. Gold Buying would still exist. There would just be less inflation over time.

So if were going to ban ridiculous forms of farming, it has to be for specific game play reasons and not because your goal is to stop gold buying/selling. Because you can’t solve that unless blizzard is handing out very harsh bans for people caught buying.

Afaik the current bid on EU servers for glaives is 1.5m gold.

That oil sheik money hits different.

Even if you banned all gold buyers it wouldn’t stop the obscene amounts of gold that flows from farming strat, boosts and other classic dungeons. Some classes can solo most stuff like Ramparts.

You say this like an item wasn’t bought for gold cap in classic where gold was harder to get.

Join a guild. Make friends. Get free gear. The people at gold cap are controlling the auction house… not farming strat at max 400-500gph…

This isn’t true at all. We have multiple paladins sitting at 40-50k+ gold just from strat farming to buy DST. DST min bid on my servers vary but 35k is the starting price.

I personally have several friends on WoW who ditched their mages and gathering professions just to strat farm with a paladin.

Whats the point of this thread? People who raid in guilds get it for free. Those who buy it might be cheaters, but they also dont matter to anyone but pugs who have less gold and arena.

100% irrelevant if you have a guild.

Blizzard doesn’t care about gold buyers. You can ask on every server who buys gold and most people would be able to tell you who does it. They won’t get banned, people shoveling literally thousands of IRL money through GDKPs and blizzard just ignores it. The person buying Gressil for 100k+ didn’t get banned, the person who bought Ashes of Alar for 600k+ wasn’t banned. Blizzard doesn’t care.

Whitemane has Ashes selling for 600,000 gold lol.

We even made a Gorthax video.

It was pretty evident in Naxx GDKPs too. Gressil went for what almost 200k in at least one instance.

Should got he FF14 route and make the currency worth nothing but they would lose a lot of money on token sales.

Ff14 Gil isn’t worth anything cuz the game floods you with it.
