You can think so but I don’t think so.
We talked about it in our raid when several proud players showed off their new mounts. Everyone used their WoW gold from the game.

I’ve never heard the expression “boiling the frog”
I thought they were made illegal here in the US too. I don’t play any other games so I have no first hand experience but I could have sworn I read something about it being outlawed a few years back.
Can’t wait for mythic raid tier gear in the cash shop!
Saying goes that if you put a frog in boiling water it will jump out, but if you put it in room temperature water and gradually increase the temperature it will stay until it boils and dies.
In reality the frog will almost certainly jump out when it gets too hot, but as shorthand for explaining how a company can acclimate its customers to its bad practices it’s sound. In that case it would be more accurate to describe the company as the one conducting the boil on numerous frogs representing their customers and seeing how far they can get before too many jump out, but that takes a lot more words than just “boiling the frog” and attention these days runs at a premium.
Ick… frog legs should never be boiled! Ever!!! They should either be sautéed in butter with some garlic and shallots or deep fried with a light coating of potato starch and served with a ginger soy dipping sauce.
What? No more cookies? I loved your little tray of cookies you used to put out.
Ah yes, because a mount is tied to player power. Got it! So informative you are!
for Gundai!
The boiling frog experiment isnt even valid. Even in slowly adjusted temperatures frogs will leave the pot when they become uncomfortable.
The frogs that stayed in the pot were the ones who had their brains removed.
Unless you’re just straight up calling wow players lobotomized… In which case, go off I guess?
I liked this post because of the loot box idea.
I love loot boxes. little mysteries.
We are frog’s sitting in boiling water.
The worst part is most people cheered every time the temp got turned up.
You are 17 years too late to warn people about “micro” transactions.
QFT. Welcome to Warcraft immortal.
Considering that they turned the temperature down significantly from the 500 dollar mount in BfA this seems like the opposite.
If history is any indication this remains doubtful.
I have a life outside of the game, my dude. If people are playing the AH enough to drop that kind of gold on tokens and then exchange them, benefiting blizzard in teh process, thats their perogative. I can still call such things foolish and wouldn’t be wrong in do
ing so.
This aspect of the situation bothers me the most to be honest, they actually put new players directly into this channel so it teaches them that real life money = tokens = carries is normal and supported. I liked it better when stuff like that was a dirty little secret that went on behind closed doors lol
I believe I heard this argument before MoP when I purchased the Annual Pass…
they’re eating the cats! they’re boiling the frogs!
Yall ever notice the cost of the sub never went up even when store mounts and pets were introduced ages ago?
Yeah wow some boil
