Broken Chat

It seems my general, trade, and local defense chat is messed up. I’ve searched the great wide web and have tried several different “fixes”, but none seem to work.

I get the, “The number of messages that can be sent to this channel is limited, please wait to send another message.” However I don’t see myself or anyone else speaking.

If I create a new tab for general, trade, and local defense then it works. However, I don’t want my chats all in new tabs. I want them in the default tab as they should be.

Yes everything is enabled in settings. I have reset chat and UI several times.

Any ideas?

The command “/reset ui” is not the same as the full UI rest. It involves deleting or renaming the Cache, Interfact and WTF folders and disabling any automatic updaters to allow you to use a fresh, unaltered UI to see if the issue happens then as well. Disabling addons does not do this as what was corrupted could still load.

Yes, I know the difference. I did /reload UI as well as reset my UI like I said. It didn’t work. Thanks though.

I ended up just reinstalling WoW and twitch with fresh addons. Luckily with my PC and internet it didn’t take long. Whatever the issue was it is now fixed with a complete reinstall.

I’m not sure why resetting my UI didn’t work. Deleting my WTF, Interface, and Cache folders was the first thing I did. It’s always worked before.

Sometimes it may take a couple of resets I’ve noticed. But glad you were able to get it working again.

A repair might have worked instead of a reinstall.
