Bringing back FOMO cosmetics =/= Giving it for Free

In what way is mage tower now a joke? I hadn’t tried it because I was salty over not getting mount credit for the ones I did in Legion and having to repeat them so I never bothered.

Then literally everything in WoW is FOMO since one day WoW will be dead and things will be unobtainable.

While I am pro stuff coming back, I will mention that Spirit of Competition was, at the time, mentioneod as supposed to come back at the next Olympics. That was Blizzard’s word on it, all of the items could be achieved in 4 years time if you didn’t get them that year

It just. Didn’t.

With entirely different circumstances. It’s not inconvenient, it is a different situation. Again, monetary gains and illegal usage of someone’s software is completely different than people not understanding what “no” means and respecting player time and achievement. Which is the thing Blizzard said they’re going to do, and have maintained doing.

Just because you want something doesn’t entitle you to it.

So what’s the harm in bringing back the once unobtainable items?

You think you do but you don’t.

WoW is literally old enough now that a newer generation wasn’t alive or able to play the content at the time. And seeing as how this game is probably going to go for another 10 at least, this is a shortsighted take.

How can it be FOMO if people weren’t even around for it? You can’t fear missing out on something you weren’t even around for.

Seriously?

It was “Sub to the game and get good or you might miss out on this forever”. It dug right into that FOMO at the time, and there’s no benefit keeping it around now that its been so lnog.

Frankly, anything not oobtainable any more should be removed from the game. Why am I justifying space on my hard drive for you to have a trophy? Make it obtainable or remove it.

You’re completely missing the point.

Also I hate this FOMO buzzword people latched onto, it’s such a nonsense word half the time.

Yeah, seriously. Do you even understand what FOMO means? Or are you just regurgitating a buzzword you heard other people whining about.

Hell, bringing CM back for a couple months with a limited time event is far more FOMO than the original CM sets were where people had TWO YEARS to choose to do it or not.

Just because someone wasn’t around doesn’t make it any less FOMO. Do you understand what it means?

You literally can’t fear missing out if you aren’t even around.

And the people that were around had 2 years to make a choice about whether they wanted the sets or not.

Neither situation is FOMO.

I like you pretend it was a choice and not 2 years to try and get it, only to be screwed over by the faction you’re on isn’t popular at the moment, the fact you don’t have a guild, class balancing issues (combat had it ROUGH during MoP, every single patch lead to more and more energy issues until you got geared) and just, people being jerks about the whole thing. At least mage tower was a solo task you could do by yourself, you were at the mercy of class meta and items for CM and so help you if you didn’t have a guild

Unless you want to go back in time and pay me for a race change and server transfer I guess

Doesn’t really matter if it was FOMO or not honestly. I think that’s such a weird take to talk about, it’s just time-limited (Expansion limited, I guess) for no reason. Challenge modes weren’t even continued past MoP because they were a failure and many people didn’t even bother doing them for transmog alone (Which could be an issue getting a group together AND obtaining them).

Doesn’t make it any less true.

Then you’re delusional

If you have 2 years to do something it’s not FOMO in any way shape or form.

Just because something is no longer available does not make it FOMO.

It was “Sub doing this expansion or you may miss out on this”

That is getting people to do smoething for the Fear Of Missing Out. FOMO. Just because its a large span of time doesn’t mean it isn’t being pushed to get people to do stuff they might not

the new talent system gave classes much for baseline dmg and utility

example: prot paladins now have divine toll to pick up adds in tank challenge.

also the new head enchant functions in the mage tower as well as season 3 tier bonuses.

additionally, by raising the ilvl scaling of the mage tower to 120 and making MoP raid items 128, people can get gear with TONS of sockets.

putting in a bunch of mainstat gems really increases your dmg by ALOT
