Bringing back FOMO cosmetics =/= Giving it for Free

I only play my Shaman, since Wotlk when I first started with this account I think, so I only did it on Enhancement at release. Last month I was bored and lvled an UHDK and queued MT. Nuked it 1st try. That’s when I saw how undertuned and underbalanced current MT is. That’s probably what would happen with Challenge modes - impossible to balance them with current setting.

I really really hope they bring new challenges, both CM and MT were great designs. As I remember CM was harder for me, but back then i was like 13 yo or something? Spamming LFG 7 days in a row, played almost 24/7 to get my Shamanzee set. Very nice memories.
Hopefully we get something related in the future BLIZZARD!!!

Sheesh, I’m amazed this thread is still going. Having read a bunch of these comments, I have a new proposition:

Create new class sets and have them tied to completing all mythic+ on a timed level 10 (what we currently call 20). Now that I’ve thought about it more, a lot of the issue is that CM was replaced by Mythic+ in Legion and with much worse rewards - in fact, no rewards at all until last season of BFA added a flying worm. SL mounts were very cool, DF Armoredon’s are ok but should’ve been flying mounts, but I think they could totally add new class sets in the future, maybe something as a reward for 2800 or 3000 rating or something like that, and just recolor them each season.

2.8k or 3k is too exaggerated, let it be awarded for the 2.5k achievement which only gives the elite/mythic variants of the LFR, NM, HC (Raid) and Conquest (PvP) armor

They can bring back CM gear and have it be as challenging as it was back in MoP (which wasn’t nearly as hard as you guys remember). It is totally reasonable to bring removed content back into the game so long as its acquisition is as difficult or more difficult than before. This applies to everything, even Corrupted Ashbringer. Just do it, just scale the content to be hard like you did with Mage Towers in Shadowlands. At least bring in recolors.

You can buy Mythic carries and Top Rated PvP boosts with Tokens. You’ve been able to buy carries since Classic - that doesn’t invalidate the challenge for those who refuse to purchase past things.

That said CM was tuned for casual players to clear despite the name implying otherwise, and people revealing all the shortcuts which made a lot of the remaining challenge intended to be skipped.

People paying for carries are buying the exceptional work of others. The work is still there, people were just playing better to compensate. This remains a weak argument though as justification for pixellust.

Funny I needed to buy a carry for the Pandaren Phoenix but didn’t find Mage Tower that bad. People remember differently I guess.

Anyway yes bring it all back. Half the fun of having a cool mount is making a line with other people who have that mount in different colours.

I guess it opens the can of worms of “bring the originals back” but I think that recolors appeal to everybody.

It’s about colors and not rarity. The red/gold-monk set is one of the few available to the class, which suits the Lunar Festival theme. It should have never been FOMO to begin with.

Don’t bring back the originals… but I think recolors are definitely worth it, gives everyone a chance of some of the best looking transmog sets ingame, I got my CM lock set but would love one of the recolors.
