Bring Your Hero up to Speed with the Enhanced Level 70 Boost

Paying to win is spending additional money to bypass any standardized mechanics in the game to reach the end goal. That end goal is different for different people. It could be the raid, mythic plus, cosmetics, or transmogs. If you spend extra money to bypass someone else who has been playing the game for the rewards, you just paid to win.

The token is paying to win. You spend money to acquire gold to purchase carries for loot rewards. You just bypassed standardized mechanics to win. Same thing for rep grinds and transmogs. If you paid for the boost that allows you to “catch up” and bypass what everyone else earned in game, it’s paying to win.

It’s degenerate behavior in my opinion. Many people are ok with it these days because they have been mentally conditioned to accept the behavior.

Supposedly yes but people have said the renown boost is broken, I haven’t used mine so I can’t confirm like confirm.

They probably did.

I remember those now that you mention them and ultimately the logic was given how proffs worked (no categories) boosting a toon without proffs felt awful because the next month of gameplay was power leveling them or just not having proffs on that character.

Not justifying it though. Ultimately this stuff starts off small and relatively harmless with some surface level justification and it just ends up snowballing.

Like we’ve never been sold EA for an expac release, D4 does it one time to resounding success and here we are. I was like whatever when I first saw it because as stupid as it is to spend $20 for the same game a few days earlier it’s a different genre. Opinions on EA aside it just showcases how things escalate over time rather than a jarring philosophy change.

Almost all the good transmog comes from raids and PvP and questing in this expansion; it’s not like SL where there were some really stellar rewards from renown grinds

i agree even if one does not think its hard work it requires dedication

“Pay up to play M+ immediately.”

How did the boost snowball? They removed the professions boost and the Garrisons. They added non-maxed renown for some cosmetics.

424 gear isn’t getting you into M+ immediately unless you’re carried through 2s for a few days.

Before this “Boost plus” version, i donʻt think any boost raised your reputation as well, (Tho i didnʻt really pay attention to reputation when using my one free boost for buying an expansion) allowing you instant access to items locked behind reputation.

Regardless of wether or not the content to grind rep is easy or not it is still needed to get things gated by reputation. And that fact matters to anyone who wants said items.

I’ll probably let mine simmer for a while, then, until the hitches get worked out.

Not that I’ve, uh. Been burning through the ones we’ve already gotten

You must be hating prime rewards and twitch drops too. Same thing.

But whatever. This thread is a drop in the ocean. None of us matter if you’re still paying money and against blizz’s ideas. Pretty sure flight is still a thing because people actually did something back in wod besides simply crying on the forums.

Do with your money as you see fit. :dracthyr_shrug:

If I contact you to pay for your bills, then I’ll ask to have say in what it is you chose to do with it.

They’re literally marketing it as an enhanced boost now. Are you trying to tell me it’s not different?

I see you decided to ignore what I said.

what are you even on about LOLZ

Haha, I feel you, I hadn’t used my older ones either until Warlocks for all came and then I used them to make my Tauren Warlock, Zandalari Warlock, Kul Tiran Warlock and Night Elf Warlock so use them at your own pace if and when you want to. :yum: :yum: :yum:

Ok, and hear me out on this, who cares?

Considering I got to higher than the renown given by the boost merely by existing in the game for a while, and without doing basically anything I’d consider to be effort, I’m going to have to disagree.

There’s no reason for people starting today to begin at 0 whether they buy a boost or not.

The amount of “It’s just X” or “It’s the end of the expansion” arguments is honestly kind of sad. We all know Blizzard has no boundaries.

I havent seen any such drops or rewards that i felt would make my gameplay any better.

“OMG You need to watch twitch to get a free llama mount!!”
“Does it run faster than my 100+ other mounts?”
“No.”
“Does it let me vend/repair/T-mog/auction?”
“No.”
“
 yeah, IÊ»ll pass”
“But its a LLAMA!”
:unamused:

Your argument involved pointing out that they removed garrisons, content from WoD, from the boost and proffessions that I’m pretty sure has been gone for a long time because the (Legion?) revamp invalidated the need of boosting proffs.

Suffice to say it wasn’t a very solid one worth acknowledging.
