You were already able to buy your way to max tuskarr rep if you had gold (or IRL money to buy a WoW token to sell for gold). I did it back when it was super cheap. In fact I think you could probably still do it but it would be more expensive
Wrong. Itās 20 for the base reps which go to 35. Itās 12 for Loamm.
Honey, you can get last sessonās tier for free right now without stepping into the raid.
You seem to have no clue what youāre screaming about.
This is an admission that the game play is bad, and that only the rewards matter.
Yeah, Iām pretty neutral on the whole thing. Weāre at the tail end of the expansion. If someone gets a bit of a boost to renown, itās whatever to me. As far as it being a business tactic though? Yeah, thatās definitely questionable.
Itās amazing how clowns go out of their way to defend this trash lol.
Well, they arenāt wrong.
I had it on good authority that Blizzard would never sell gear, power, progression through the cash shop; GD told me so.
What people continue to fail to realize is itās just getting added in slowly. There will be no jarring update or conversion. It will happen slowly so people will acclimate.
Case-in-point: everyone here already saying āThis isnāt a big dealā
This is a super character boost.
And this is a super duper character boost.
And to go one step furtherā¦
ā¦THIS is a super dee duper character boost.
To do this you had to either Play the game to Catch the Fish yourself.
Or spend Gold on the Auction House to buy fish other people caught.
Both are engaging in the gameās gameplay systems. As playing the auction house is a legit thing people do for fun.
The WoW tokenā¦well thatās just what it always has been, I suppose.
The thing that gets me is that the person screaming the loudest doesnāt even have the details correct.
Ah good to know.
But my argument was that rep is still relevant for the things it unlocks.
wether itŹ»s a dragon skin from one of the flights or an armor recipe from the Maruuk.
So who cares? The players that want those things care.
I didnāt catch 300k fish though I just bought them when they were dirt cheap; seems unfair to all the people who had to work for it if you think about it
The next step is to add it earlier.
Theyāll start selling them at the end of each major patch next and people will again say who cares.
And then the next step is to add it even earlier.
Boosts used to come with profession boosts, free Garrisons and free flying.
I donāt remember anyone screaming about boosted professions back then.
Thatās like arguing all the boosts are bad because they make old content trivial to farm for mogs and rep.
yeah it really diminishes the accomplishment of it all i hate it
If it makes you feel any better, as someone who doesnāt have a single renown at even 10 despite playing all expansion; were I given all 20s I would probably still forget to even go check the rewards as itās not something I was ever chasing
Now Iām a pretty lazy guy, but I donāt think going forward if next expansion has renown rewards that actually interested me Iād wait 12 months just to buy it with cash. Idk.
SL had the renown boost to 40 and then even stepping out of town practically gave you more renown. I know someone will say this boost is just some p2w scheme but at this point Iām wondering wth to even do with all the boosts I get because I tend to get Max level on every class about a year in anyway
But if Transmog is the pentultimate end gameā¦
Iām kind of side eyeing this since I have every rep except for the new one at max already on this one and a couple of others alts so that doesnāt do me any good unless I actually make a brand new character and boost it.
Huh. Well, I donāt personally have a problem with a boost getting you up to speed. People being locked into a grind when they come back was always a pain point.
Is the boost that we got with the TWW purchase an āEnhancedā boost?
No it doesnāt. I do not care if that toon walking around Valdrakken spent every moment from launch doing everything, or is a new character just created. How does it impact me? About the only time it would was if it was a new player who had no idea how to do their chosen spec in group content. And sometimes, frankly, that can apply to experienced players as well.
Yes it is.
