Bring the all powerful and legendary Bard Class to WOW

Which was a mistake.

so the bards can even it out

Which class will they steal from this time?

none as they use musical instruments and no one else does

Said the “Highmountain” Tauren.

You’re thinking cosmetics instead of mechanics. A common mistake in these threads.

what would they steal then

Well a joke class should have some joke attacks… How about a call of nature song where a bunch of woodland critters attack your target! Maybe even the brown noise frequency that makes your target poop!

Beats me, nobody’s ever come up with an actual rationale for a bard class in the first place.

No offense, If you want a bard class go play ffxiv. I hope to never see those buffoon classes in WoW.
As I saw in ffxiv, people treat their support classes like crap, especially the bard if they didn’t play the right song at the right time. I never made a bard there, and will never play any hunter support class that you stand around looking like a boob playing a harp.
Don’t want to see that silliness here.

Missed two dungeon queues lastnight 'cause I fell asleep in my chair…
Don’t need some soothing tune playing awesome peros… to… jrs…

/Loud Gnomish snoring.

I would really like to see a more support-based class that utilizes status effects in an interesting way, but I think the Warcraft universe lends itself to ways of achieving this and potential classes that are more thematically interesting, such as a Runemaster or a Witch Doctor.

I don’t dislike the idea of bards or anything, but I feel like it’s a bit underwhelming. Since WoW began, we have gotten 4 new classes: Death Knight, Monk, Demon Hunter, and Evoker.

DK, DH, and Evoker are obvious in their WoW-based theming, but even the Monk is less-so just a standard monk archetype and moreso themed around the lore of MoP, with emphasis on the August Celestials.

Meanwhile the bard is seemingly just a person with an instrument who gives buffs and heals.

Pass, bards is not a warring class and we have plenty of classes in the rts that is still not in game, we don’t need another added to the game with no lore basis.

So obviously speaking only for myself I don’t get the appeal of this class. On top of that the idea that the development team could implement a class like this and not create a total in game disaster seems rather optimistic to me.

Cool. So never. Been 18 years without it happening but somehow will be different in the future, even though BFA and SL already proved it wrong.

Proved what? That Blizzard’s class team is terrible? No argument there. But also no sense in making their workload even heavier. They can’t even handle what’s on their plate already.

They’re worried if you look them up it will actually reinforce that bards aren’t really a thing in wow.

Sure there are a handful of people who sit there playing an instrument but it doesn’t mean a bard class is even remotely something that exists in game. These characters exist as Easter eggs for the most part and a shout out to people who composed in game music. For the most part they are non combat npc’s for rp/environmental flavor.

2 of them arenamed after the people who did some of the music for wow, bard in rogue class hall is just a random npc that doesn’t do anything bard related, etc.

It was an april fools joke back in 2008. Still funny people think itll ever happen.

Proved that not releasing a new class does absolutely zero in regards to balance and polishing classes. They reiterate and change them every patch, whether there’s a new class or not. Been doing it since Vanilla. And it’s never going to change.

Worried about their workload…now I’ve read every excuse possible lmao
