That was acceptable back then. And there were ways around rng.
People will not tolerate raid or die anymore. SL is proof.

If they brought back TITANFORGING right now
LFG would be full of normal raid Pug groups,
Low key groups, world quests would be full and que times would be cut in half for all content.
Pvp would explode too.

Except the badge gear was terrible.
People get BETTER gear from Korthia, now, than they did from badges back then, and just turn their noses up at it, saying “This isn’t good enough.”
Uh… raiding has been the worst it’s ever been, this expansion - where have you been?
Your flat out wrong. What it really would do is make a small percentage of players upset someone has a good time level from LFR.

The beginning of SL was the worst that raiding has ever been in the history of the game, the beginning of SL was “pvp or die” (or mayyyyyybe M+, but pvp was def the way to go).
The game was and still is
Raid or die if you pve
Mythic plus participation is abysmal
Raid or die basically means the hardest content is the only incentivized content in the game for player power.
And that is exactly what shadowlands is.

Yes PvP gear definitely was the way to go. But if you didn’t bother with that, it was still raid or die.
