Static was a good experiment but honestly, I think it’s 100% more flawed than the previous system mostly due to inflation & deflation.
A combination of both static & % would be best; I haven’t hammered out all the details but something like start the rating at a certain point & have it scale with the ladder depending on % of the population after a certain number of people get to rewards.
Goalpost shifts every morning at 11am & that’s the rating needed for said rewards until the next day.
Anyways, like I said I don’t have exact details on how it would work entirely but I feel something needs to change; static ratings aren’t working.
Ease of pushing being reliant upon the general populace engaging just seems so doomed especially when there’s generic rewards so everybody just drifts off to the easiest and most convenient bracket.
I also don’t imagine we’re ever going back to end of season threshold stuff and I’m surprised they didn’t adjust titles to be flat cutoff as well.
Encouragement to play main chars or char you care about would be cool because right now the only thing that’s tied to char is titles which goes to like 50-250 people or something
People shooting for duelist, elite and glad too beneficial to just play fotm
Might be a fried take, but I’m in favour of % based rewards if after 1-2 months they are available for grabs. If you happen to dip over the current % threshold, you get it. Would love to see more participation rather than a rush in the end of the season.
I would also add more inflation to almost to the same degree as in S2 Shadowlands, because I had the most fun in that one. Played a lot of alts. Easiest rewards ever, but I don’t really care anymore after reaching 2.4k few times.
i totally agree. tired of being 2500 one season then the following season im hard stuck 1800 for w/e reason and blizzard pumps mmr and now im back to 2200+ like im tired of that sht
% sounds pretty good, cuz someone could be like 4k one season and be 10x less exp than someone with 3k a different season all cuz of population size. We see this a lot on the description of streams.
I feel like most people prefer being 2100 most seasons then getting elite or glad by accident on inflated seasons like Corrupted, Unchained and Draconic than just 1800-2100 every season.
I think you can’t unring the bell. All that would happen is people would reroll to whatever is fotm and try to cheese win glad in a day. Some people would get their rewards and quit, holding that mmr hostage and not putting it back into the ladder and others would just whine about “early season abusing”.
The system for sure has faults, but I think it’s better than percentage based titles and going back to end-of-season only rewards.
How many crayons are we eating is the better question
Anyways, people who are against %titles are just people who want to get easy rewards because they don’t care.
%titles forces you to play a season out AND have a main (you can still play your alts or reroll but you have to commit for season end). It makes glad/r1 go up faster, because the ladder will continuously be pushed up by people wanting titles, which helps people who were 2500™ and are now 2k get back to 2500™.
Ah yes, % rewards so everyone can just AFK until the end of the season and push high quickly.
How about making MMR and rewards constant throughout seasons? 2400 one season should be 2400 the next season. You shouldn’t have one season inflated to 3200 and another where multi R1s and blizzcon players are 2500.
