I would be in favor of an entry level template to keep things competitive. I’m not sure how others would feel about that. I’m just looking to a solution to the major power creep allowing people to join and be viable in BGs. You wouldn’t allow a 300-something into your Heroic Ny’alotha, Blizzard doesn’t even allow 300 somethings into Heroic 5-mans. Why do PvPers have to allow them in something that is actually competitive? But I’m looking for instead of excluding them, lets at least give them a chance to make a contribution. We do not want to fragment the player base and make BG queues longer than they already are.
This has always been up to the personal character.
I am not for any Template systems, although a nice balance between entry level gear and end game is always welcomed.
With the current system, we are expected to do at least the Entry 8.3 quests etc in order to stay relevant.
And this is fine if it hurt the person that didn’t stay relevant, but the problem is hurts everyone else as well. Does every BG needs to come down to which team has more people that are fresh 120s? That isn’t fun for anyone.
template status was the worst feature ever in the history of the entire game, dont even try this again
The fact that PvP is probably in the worst state it’s ever been(as far as accessibility) in the 15 years of the games existence says otherwise.
No templates allowed in pvp!. You want to do good in pvp, get gear first, really simple.
So templates made by someone who knows what they’re doing might actually work. They might have to outsource for that…
There is already a template system.
In a nutshell. > your primary stats don’t matter eg Agility , strength, int. Only secondary stats do. (Even then crit is 50% nerfed in pvp combat.) So higher ilvl only equates to more mastery, vers and haste.
Damage is also scaled based on ilvl disparity. So if you have 50k hps and you get belted for 200k (or essentially half of a someones average hps) On your screen you’ll be hit for only 25k.
Exactly!!!
How do I get gear for other people before I meet them?
Then how come I’m able to one shot certain people when people with normal amount of HP I barely hit them for more than 5% of their health a hit? This is either not accurate or not good enough.
Yeah, you die with 2 hits but it shows low numbers. I was playing with my fresh 120 shaman, he had 208k hp at the time and i died to warlock real quickly. I took 108k dmg from a chaos bolt, more than 50% of my hp with only 1 spell lol.
2 Spells is enough to kill me.
spoken like a true lifer that needs his gear to carry him
LOL tell that to the guy with 400 ilvl going against the pve nerd with 485
It’s an RPG game, the whole game is based on character progression from Gear. Not sure what you don’t understand about this game is supposed to have Gear have a tremendous impact. Attaining BiS items should feel exciting and make you want to Que up some PvP to test their power.
The guy with 485 gear should 1 shot the 400 item level character and that is perfectly balanced. Then the 400 item level guy should be motivated to play the game and gear up so they can be competitive. That is the point of this game.
The players that don’t want to gear up or don’t want Gear to matter are just playing the wrong game. STOP IT!! Stop trying to ruin the core aspect of this game. This is an RPG and the fun is attaining powerful gear that makes your character feel amazing!
Templates = Uninstall
It’s just baffling that people don’t want this game to be World of Warcraft anymore by adding in horrific systems like Templates.
When the power gap becomes too large, it’s not fun or fair.
That’s why they separated twinks from levelers in random bgs. That’s why we have level brackets.
Then Blizzard might as well combine all the brackets. We can have level 120s one-shotting level 10s. That’ll motivate the lower level guy to play the game and level up so they can be competitive. That is the point of this game.
Similarly, players who don’t want to level up are just playing the wrong game. Stop it! Stop trying to ruin the core aspect of this game. This is an RPG and the fun is attaining higher levels that make your character feel amazing!
You also stopped playing WoW when there weren’t any templates, so…
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
every single response ive seen from this guy is just trolling, theres no other explanation for it. dont even bother replying
It is fair because you are supposed to get better gear to be competitive.
They need to remove experience from BGs so people can just PvP in them again and this fixes the problem. BGs are supposed to be a break from lvling to test your PvP skills and gear.
This statement makes no sense. The game has always had brackets and that promotes fair PvP in an RPG game. If players get 1 shot in those brackets they need better gear and that is called fair balanced PvP. There is nothing wrong with the same character level 1 shotting someone. That is called a gear check.
You keep bringing this up and it is pointless.
BFA had the worst launch of any expansion and it was an unfinished product. The scaling was bonkers at the start (almost as bad as templates) and the gear wasn’t very good. Not sure why I would play this game if it is bad or isn’t satisfying that RPG itch.
I came back for 8.3 solely because of Corruption Gear and unlimited Heart level. These 2 things have brought back an RPG element that are needed in this game. Gear has to have a big impact for it to be fun and considered an RPG game.
I am always clear on why I play this game and what is required for me to continue to play this game. The same can’t be said for you though. Do you even play and like RPGs… Looks like an obvious nope!
8.3 PvP is the best PvP we have had since WoD so I will continue to enjoy it for now.
I really dislike trolls on the forums which is why I always strive to have a great discussion and prove solid points based in facts that can’t be disputed.
my facts are stronger also i dont read posts split up into 4+ pieces of stuff that is likely wrong anyways, i won’t subject myself to that
