The truth is the best thing to do would be to just recolor all the elites and give everyone new sets to earn so it benefits EVERYONE not just the ‘complainers’.
Some folks in this thread are being selfish and demand things they can’t have just because they pay $15 a month.
It is what it is man, they don’t understand the meaning of ‘time-exclusive’ I guess.

It’s true, 6-7 years ago i woke up in a cold sweat after having a vision of the one come to be known as dabdaddy, looking fly af. I had too.
New T3 is expensive though, no shot i’d be able to afford it so i’m glad i got it when i did

Yeah, and one of them thinks they aren’t. 
Which is fine, I guess, everybody has their own bias, I’m just of the mind that it’s just disingenuous to project your attachment to your collectibles onto everybody else and say that it’d kill the game if they were to be brought back in some any capacity.
Stating the situation and how things’ll likely go isn’t really the same as engaging in discussion as to why or why they shouldn’t or couldn’t potentially change, how they wouldn’t be beneficial, etc.
It’s actually something I’d do, heh.

It could be perceived as being ‘selfish’ but I earned those sets (as did others) full well knowing they were ‘time-sensitive’. If I didn’t get something I wanted (Cruel Gladiator’s Stormdragon) I would accept that I missed out and oh well.
They basically want to punish people for ‘following the rules’ for their own desires which is ‘selfish’ no matter which way you try to project it onto me.
People had their chance to get it, adding those sets in wouldn’t benefit anybody besides the ones complaining (the ones who missed the sets) rather than adding in recolors of said sets that would benefit both parties.
Like I said, it may be somewhat ‘selfish’ but moreso on you.

Recolors would be fine, originals would be fine. Both would be ideal, but yeah. Anything to get more people queuing for shinies.
My point is that the above gets more people interested while also deterring very few; nobody clinging onto some 12 year old set is finally quitting because somebody else can get it, and the few who will aren’t of consequence.
Basically looking at overall net benefit here.

Like, the thing with the recolors is I’m operating under the assumption that they’re looking to avoid asset creation. Using existing recolors like you posted for stuff like the vicious warr set would be ideal, yeah.
Then actual sets maybe, I don’t know, but unused tints are easy rewards for mid tier play, especially on alts as they’re tied to class, and the ladder would benefit from more bodies.

I think recoloring the sets would be a really good way to incentivize the ladder.
You’d have both people they have the elites already and people that don’t trying to get them.
While if you brought back old sets, you’d open up pandora’s box for old cosmetics returning and possibly piss a lot of people off.
It’s a win-win easily.

‘Limited Time Set’ aka ‘Elite Sets’ ‘This set can be collected during the current season only’ meaning that they were never intended to be brought back and were brought into the game with Blizzard intending them to be ‘one and done’ sets. They are MEANT to be exclusive, bringing them back would mean they weren’t.
Recolors, that is the solution that would best suit everyone:
- More incentive to push rating (it’s new for literally everyone not just people who want the old sets)
- Same model as old elites with different coloration (both sides happy; good middle ground).
