The numbers are in. There were plenty of guilds that used PL at the end of Legion, even in Mythic.
If your stance is so ubiquitous as you would have me believe, you should also have zero issue building your own PL guild. If everyone wants PL, and it’s just the evil guild masters forcing ML… Then take control of your own fate and build your own PL guild. If you’re right, then people should be signing up by the bucket load.

That’s not how strawman works because you’re now strawmanning my argument.
Say for example I’m not in a raiding guild.
I look through the group finder and join a listing i see. Majority is from the same guild. They have mastetlooter on and are only looking for warm bodies. They do not disclose loot rules in the description. Drama ensues and people get kicked or don’t know how the ML wants to distribute it.
This is more a case of me playing devils advocate, I don’t know how much of the decision to remove ML was done in the spirit of “fairness” versus trying to cut down on the QQ.
I’m not going to deep dive into a character I don’t care about dude, cut the riddles and post on main.
At that point in your example, it’s on you for not asking.
That’s why almost everyone who’s advocating its return back to guilds is arguing for even stricter rules on it. I’d like it back with a 100% guildie requirement for it to be utilized in a raid. In other words if there’s any pugs… PL is enforced.
