Mind you, it would be nice if those time limited things came back in some form.
For example, through TWing it and disabling azerite traits/legendaries so that it was difficult. TBC timewalking does this beautifully.

I’m down for them bringing it back if it is an increased challenge from when it was initially released.
Not many people were getting mage tower skins immediately. I want it to be even more difficult if it’s going to be possible again.
I spent that limited amount of time getting as many as I can. Sometimes over 40 attempts. If they’re gonna be available, I’d like to at least appreciate having done it sooner than later.
If no significant increase in difficulty to obtain/we actually want a lot of people with them…then I propose off colors instead. Like, noticeably worse. But still better than nothing. Maybe lacking the weapon’s natural enchant. For demon hunters…well, your flame glaives will be nothing more than hilts with horns coming out of the knuckles now

As someone who hates things being removed, no. There are some things that, when made known from the start they’re limited time only, I’m 100% A-OK with being removed.
This is one of them.
Edit; I have NONE of the tower skins. On any class, for any spec. So I have no bias here.

All the time based content was based around the classes of that time. Raids, dungeons, quests, etc etc.
As long as people defend them, they will keep removing things so some delusional people can feel better for themselves for no achievement other than paying for the game during X time frame.

Let’s see. You can’t get the moose from WoD HFC, the Violet spellwing from ABT. And there’s going to be a mount getting remove shortly in Nyalota

As has been stated in other threads, if they had treated the brutosaur the same way they treated past time limited content such as mage tower, there would be much less discontent.
The mage tower and rewards were advertised as time limited before they were even released, the brutosaur was confirmed as time limited after someone called blizzard out about it after noticing something on ptr over halfway through it’s “lifespan”. Also other time limited content wasn’t a gold sink. All gold sinks are still obtainable from their original sources.
In short, they are nowhere near the same.

I agree with others. I wasn’t around to get the Grove Warden, and I really really wish I was. I want it SO MUCH. When I see someone ride by on one, I get so jealous. But that’s what makes it special, to me and to those that were able to get it. I wouldn’t want to take that away from anyone, just for my own desire to have it.

I don’t have ANY skins. Also, if you follow any of my posts, I usually vehemently OPPOSE removals. Once in a great while, it really is ok.

Yes. But they were never labeled with “LIMITED TIME REWARDS.”
Also the real challenge is Mythic and those mounts have like a 1% drop rate.

sure thing. I dont care. You guys constantly cry about mage tower. I dont see people crying about not getting the cloak in pandaland, the challenge mode from both pandaland and wod. You just love to pick and choose don’t you

WoW has had time limited rewards since vanilla. There are many mog appearances and titles that are no longer obtainable. These are prestige items that show you participated in the game at the time. I think where Blizz missed the boat is not having some challenge on par with mage tower in BFA with similarly prestigious rewards.

The difference is irrelevant, you support the removal of content, you love it because it makes people delude themselves they achieved something while they achieved nothing.
The same thing happens with Brutosaur, people will delude themselves they deserve it even if they bought it by buying tokens, they ll feel special for no real achievement and that is the feeling corporations are selling to the psychologically ignorant.
But yeah, do keep defending and making up excuses for them so you feel special, funny when it is something the majority cant get it is suddenly bad they removed it xD

Listen I’m frustrated that I won’t be able to get that Affliction Lock staff, but you know what? I had plenty of time to do it, but I didn’t that’s my fault.

No, it isn’t. Telling us upfront we have limited time, vs pulling a shady PTR red flag removal whatever they have to be called out on drastically change how we accept the removal of anything.
Generally, no one cares that The Thing is limited when they tell us from the start. The call for it to come back is generally met with “Eh, no.”
