Bumping for my lvl 60s back
Because itâs gone and isnât coming back. A Blog post and a news post say this.
Even if they said it people would still make posts as they wouldnât read the blue posts about it.
No, the data is gone forever.
You have to ask yourself why would any company do something that causes clinical depression in its patrons? For the love of all that is good, there has to be a recourse to this tragedy of wasted of time and communication. I feel like I never want to raid again or befriend another person in game because of what happened to me and my happy family of characters. I didnât sign up to be part of this experiment or whatever it is. Pain for no reason completely blindsided because I guess Iâm not worthy enough even though I pay the same money as other more fortunate people.
Bump. My warlock is sitting on wrath right now, still lvl 60, no BC/Wrath items equipped or in my inventory. I should be able to transfer it back Classic Era if itâs still intact. Wipe my bank and inventory, take all my gold, I donât care. Just let me give you my money!
The data on wrath is different to the data Era uses and the time needed to make the program would far outweigh the money they could recoup on the service.
Blizzard have already said they canât transfer the data back.
I wouldnât put it out of the realm of possibility that they have the pre TBC pre-patch character snapshots somewhere. It would cost them almost nothing but storage space to save it. Yes they have said they permanently deleted the characters (from the server?), but this doesnât necessarily imply that they no longer have the data in any form.
Thatâs just hopeful thinking, you realise it was well over two years ago?
Obviously they only keep backups for a certain amount of time so those will be long gone.
Well of course itâs hopeful thinking.
This isnât obvious at all. It behooves a company like blizzard to be data hoarders. Clearly neither of us have any real way of knowing, itâs simply my opinion that it would be a bad idea on their part to permanently get rid of data like that if it would cost minimal resources on their end to keep that door open a crack.
Because they were asking 15$ a pop for someone who had 6geared chars thats a price of 2 triple A games for a game I already bought back in the day, paid sub, bought again in 2019 paid sub again and then they want me to pay more to be able to play my chars in classic. It was outrageous thats why many of us didnt do it, they gave us batching, pay to win bundles, boosts and token. I regret not saving my chars, because i invested lot of time in them, but none told us there was a deadline to do so either.
of course thereâs a deadline. services like this donât last forever.
and you could have gotten all your characters onto classic era for free. you CHOSE to play garbage TBC. that was YOUR CHOICE
Thats not even that much time my priest alone had 300days and i have 5other chars too. Classic was around for 2years and covid was out in full swing some of us went full in on it. I ranked up 3characters and level 6organically, cleared all content finish scalab lold q line and much more. Dont underestimate peoples abilities to play day and night.
To be honest we shouldnât have even needed to make that choice. Everyone should have had their characters put on both automatically. It wouldnât have cost them anything, they were simply trying to cash in.
Valrysha: âOn the topic of clones. I know thereâs a lot of people clamoring for them to come back. Is that something thatâs on the cards, or is that data gone and buried?â
Aggrend: âItâs about as gone as it can be, Ana I donât know if you want to add to thatâ
Ana: âYeah from the technical side of things, um, you know giving a little bit more explanation, um, when the cloning and the copying happened, we actually cloned every single character, uh, that existed in World of classic. You can imagine thatâs like a lot of characters, thereâs a lot of, uh, information involved and that takes space and like, adds complexity to our code and all that so, uh, we did decide to, uh, it was like a snapshot of time of those characters, and at that point that snapshot, since we did retire the cloning and the copying, that snapshot has been gone, uh, since, uh; itâs itâs a lot a lot of information that we needed to keep there, um the information is gone so we donât really have the snapshot of where your characters were back at that time.â
You will still level another character from 1. Nobody believes you. I would bet money you already have a few already.
I agree blizzard should have given everyone both versions of the characters.
100% this would solve everything, except the company greed.
What this gentleman said. 100% if blizzard brought the clones back it would make a lot of people happy.
Lets make it happen Blizz.
i want my rogue back please :3
Its just sad that Blizzard likes payers more than players.
