ikr? People wanting their clones back is understandable, and i can also understand the people that don’t care about it. But there is no reason why somebody would be against other people getting their clones back. Thats just selfish and an easy way to get flagged for trolling (idk if flagging for trolling does anything tho).

Would really to un-expansion my Druid that I spent so much time playing in Classic. It got upgraded to TBC, which I played for a few hours, and then WOTLK which I played for a few more hours…
I was completely away from WoW/all Blizzard news when the Cloning feature was announced as disabled. ****ty way to lose a character, because I honestly have no interest in WOTLK and would have preferred to stay on Classic Era.

You should be fighting for free clones. I don’t have an issue with the clone service persay.
More so getting milked. Again. For the 100th time.
It’s about time they do one for the community imo considering how bad they treated this game since the start.

Sure, but it’s easier to motivate a business with a willingness to spend money.
Wouldn’t complain about 1 complimentary clone. I just don’t want to re-level a Druid and re-do everything through BWL.

I have nothing against cloning, I just know it’s not coming back. This is a US alt as I play in the EU.
The forums in the EU won’t let me post on the EU character I want to due to the same server name for Era and Wrath bug for Classic.
I couldn’t agree more. More people need to know about this post. I lost a rank 13 shadowpriest and full t2.5 rogue. Not to mention I played entirely through tbc as well as phase 2 Wotlk and somehow didnt realize I missed the cloning service. Now I have zero desire to try and grind that gear and rank. The current raiding and auction house situation is totally scuffed to make an attempt at creating a new and legitimate toon. Even with the new ranking system coming I no longer have time for that. Covid time off’s long gone. I know this applies to so many of players. All that hard work and efforts gone. Bring back cloning blizzard!!!

Nobody is against it. It’s just not happening.
On the flipside there are a whole bunch of lily lilting koolaid drinkers who can’t stand it when people point out their folly.

Oh ive seen plenty of people against it, specially on reddit. Regardless, people that just say “wont happen” don’t help at all either. Even if they actually completely deleted all the data and it is impossible to ever clone again (doubt it), blizzard should get pressured for their mistake. Yall want to give blizzard a free pass because they messed up but they warned some of us that they were going to mess up? Nah thats not right.

I personally couldn’t clone because blizzards payment gate in my region was down at the time. I messed up?? give me a break.

How long was the “payment gate” down for? Did you create a thread at the time?
I’m wondering if this is what happened to me? This toon I was working on in Classic, usually toward the end of Retail expansions. Now it is no longer showing up on the Classic Realm and there does not seem to be a way to undelete it. I’d hate to start over, since this guy actually had some gold.

You cant post on this forum if you dont have a sub active. You cant have a sub active if the payment gate is down. I did go through support but you can imagine how unhelpful that was. As for how long it was down i have no idea, but it was down at the end of the cloning window.

If Blizzard says they deleted everything I’m inclined to just take them at face value.
I’ve had a renewed interest in coming back to vanilla but of course I did not pay for the clone service at the time so if I wanted to return only as my kitted out character I’d be out of luck.
However I’m just using that as an opportunity to try something new and fresh. I had already done every imaginable thing on that character, and while revisiting it as an alt in the future is definitely something that would have happened if I’d remembered to clone it, I think I’ll be much better off just starting F R E S H again as a class I have a lot less experience with and just learning the ins and outs of something new.
So that’s kinda what I’m doing.

I could not find through google any independent verification that the “payment gate” was down. How long before the “payment gate” went down did you go inactive on your account? Why did you wait til the end of he cloning period anyway?
