Changed the title due to suggestion from kinsington and want to change the topic on the thread to getting utility buffed and reworks to our talents/celestial.
List of changes that would help us significantly
2h vs Dual Wield - Not sure if this was intentional or not but 2h is massively out performing dual wield on AoE (3.5-4%+ difference) and leaves 0 choice between weapons outside of pure single target when there are strong cantrip weapons. If there is a cantrip 2h ever it’s that weapon only no matter what
Dead Talents - We have a few dead talents atm and I wanna talk about them. Staggering Strikes, Celestial Flame, Light Brewing (mentioned below), Ox Stance (mentioned below), Fluidity of Motion, Press the Advantage, and Rushing Jade Wind. All of these talents have inherent issues with either their design or how they function with the rest of our kit. Staggering Strikes, Fluidity of Motion, & Celestial Flame are just not useful and need reworked.
Rushing Jade Wind needs to become more of a passive activation like windwalker, it’s too much bloat in the brew rotation and doesn’t fit anymore.
Press the Advantage is a passive choice node vs Weapons of Order but removes our ability to use Tiger Palm which is our highest single target damaging ability and automatically makes it not worth taking for that reason alone. This needs removed at this point especially since 0 changes have been made to even try to keep it relevant or work with hero talents at all. If you want to fix it toss out the Tiger Palm removal, let stacks build up with dual wield again, increase cooldown on brews to 1 second per proc, and reduce stack requirement to 6 max.
Mastery - Multiple suggestions in this thread on how mastery should be reworked but a dodge focused mastery just doesn’t feel good at all, with the increasing number of undodgable tank busters it becomes a stat stick Mastery that we just take for attack power and a tiny bit of melee mitigation, highly suggest reworking this and even making Ox Stance our mastery while reducing threshold/tinkering with how it functions.
Stormstout’s Last Keg - Make this baseline or place it where Purifying Brew/Shuffle are in the tree instead of those 2, brew feels horrible without double keg smash so forcing a deep tree talent point into this is unnecessary imo. Make it a mid tier or very early tier talent point if you won’t make it baseline.
PvP talents becoming regular talents - 1 major utility button that we used to have is locked behind pvp talents, Avert Harm could be moved into a cap stone or deep into the tree and give us a strong unique party cooldown. Reduce effectiveness in raid so it’s more of a 5 man shining tool but still useful in raid.
Ring of Peace - A choice node that turns this into the older version or the current version would help us so much in keys. An aoe silence/disarm that is attached to your character or a knockback would be a meaningful and potent choice in keys.
Keg Smash - Increase radius by 50% to allow easier grouping and make aoeing packs less wonky
Niuzao - This just needs reworked completely as well as its talents to become a strong defensive button that is fitting of the celestial theme of monks. Comparing brews celestial to windwalker/mistweaver. Would recommend leaning into CDR on brews, Shielding, or a combination similar to incarn that would warrant the 3 minute CD.
Ox Stance - I think this just needs removed or reworked, right now it just isn’t worth taking because of the threshold and it honestly just isn’t an exciting capstone. Give us something more iconic/potent.
Light Brewing - 20% CDR on all our brews competing with one of our biggest damage + defensive nodes in m+ is very unfortunate, I think this needs to be a separate talent and should be the replacement for Anvil & Stave in the tree
EDIT: Look at the amount of people who enjoy brew and want it to succeed, cmon blizzard we need to see something soon
EDIT 4/11/2025: We have received buffs again, Celestial Brew 20% buff and Brewmasters balance as well as a Mastery buff are the main stars. Very nice to see
