Brewmaster hasn't seen a single update in balance patches. What gives?

My brewmaster and warrior are about equally geared and I don’t feel much of a difference defensively. I’d have to take my brewmaster to some 12s to be a more fair assessment but in 11s I don’t feel worse off at all.

What pulls do you struggle with on your brewmaster that you don’t on your warrior?

Brother we’re at the end of the season. A fully myth-geared tank can afk through +11s no matter the spec.

Out of the tank specs brewmasters have the second highest m+ scores. If you’re looking at top keys.

What tuning are you looking for?

Personally,

better mitigation overall in m+, we’re great at taking that big hit but 90% of m+ is smaller hits, it’s frustrating to feel that squishy even with a cd running against a pack of mobs because I’m staggering so little.

A better grouping skill for casters e.g. give us the option of ranged spear hand strike in pve. I’m tired of trying to gather packs with 2 casters, interrupting 1, pinging the other for interrupts, nobody interrupts and then I’m awkwardly circling back or we’re just losing damage on the solo mob.

A little more utility, make avert harm baseline instead of a pvp talent.

Also CB needs a higher baseline amount, this relates to the first thing I said, we’re taking all these little hits, dying quickly, and our CB gets barely any bonus because stagger is low.

the new monk dev is probably not a tank maim

If you look at top keys (title range) the tank distribution looks like this:

Druid: 6 | 2.8%
Monk: 2 | 0.9%
Warrior: 4 | 1.8%
DH: 3 | 1.4%
DK: 0 | 0%
Paladin: 198 | 92.9%

At this point I think we say paladin just outpaces everything by a mile and the rest of the people play their classes because they like the class vs how good they compare to each other.

The rest of the tanks are viable to a degree, but there are definitely some pain points brew has and I’m wondering why we’ve gotten basically zero looks outside of making our second hero tree semi-viable a few months ago. (pretty sure everyone still runs shadowpan, it’s awkward having your offensive skill tied to a defensive cooldown)

I struggle to find a reason to say “take brew” over any other tank aside from I guess if you’re extremely heavy on physical dps, but someone mentioned to me a while back that even a lot of physical damage classes are more hybrid, the bonus isn’t crazy useful.

Why though brewmaster is more than capable to do +10 and higher.

every class and spec is capable of doing 10 or higher, guess we should just have no tuning ever.

Oooo look at this badass here. Where did i say it did not need tuning hot shot? I said that it is capable of tanking high m+ just fine which is true, it is playable even superior in some aspects due to how stagger works. Guy i was replying to was giving up on playable spec, and thus my question.

You can do +10 without a healer so I wouldn’t really use that as a benchmark

They still the second highest ranked tanks. Clearly they’re able to survive things other tanks can not.

Brewmaster needs some changes but I’ve not seen any evidence that survivability is an issue comparatively to other tanks.

Those numbers are inflated by Chinese groups using exploits.

no one is denying Brew is okay for raid anyways. stagger is great for raid tanking, it’s just dog water for m+. all they need to do is figure out a stagger solution for multiple white hits at a time, have it be a talent and voila a big step towards the problem is solved

Think they need to push niuzao more and try to turn it into a pet class
